KNESWO Feminist Initiative was honored to participate in a 4-day Safety and Security Training held in Rongai at Siron Hotel and organized by CWS.

The training strengthened our capacity as human rights defenders and community-led organizations by covering key areas including Human Rights Defender (HRD) concepts, threat and risk analysis, security planning, wellbeing, and organizational preparedness.

As we continue advocating for the rights, safety, and dignity of refugee, migrant, and internally displaced s*x workers in all their diversity, investing in safety and security remains essential to ensuring sustainable and effective community-led action.

We extend our sincere appreciation to CWS for creating this valuable learning and capacity-strengthening opportunity. Together, we continue building safer, stronger, and more resilient movements.

Today, KNESWO Feminist Initiative, together with one of our partners from the USA, conducted a site visit to our shelter and housing programs supporting refugee and migrant communities.

The visit provided an opportunity to witness firsthand the impact of the Speak Out Project and to engage with community members benefiting from the program. Through this project, we have been able to provide food relief, basic needs support, and protection services to vulnerable refugees and migrants, helping to improve their well-being and dignity.

We are grateful for the continued partnership and support that make this work possible. Together, we remain committed to empowering communities, amplifying voices, and creating lasting positive change.

63 years ago, Kenya attained Madaraka — a promise of dignity, freedom, and self-determination for all.

Yet today, many women, girls, s*x workers, refugees, migrants, and gender-diverse people continue to face violence, discrimination, and femicide. Too many lives are being lost while justice remains out of reach.

This Madaraka Day, KNESWO Feminist Initiative stands in solidarity with survivors and families affected by gender-based violence and femicide. We honor those whose lives were cut short and renew our call for accountability, protection, and justice.

Madaraka is incomplete until everyone can live free from violence and fear.

Stop killing women. Stop killing s*x workers. End femicide now.

Today, KNESWO Feminist Initiative stands in solidarity with all those affected by femicide and gender-based violence.

No one deserves to lose their life because of their gender, identity, or livelihood. Being a s*x worker should never be a death sentence.

We call for justice, protection, and dignity for all women, girls, and marginalized communities. Together, we must end femicide and build a society free from violence.
