May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and at Stop TB Kenya, we are shining a light on an often overlooked aspect of Tuberculosis (TB): mental health.

Through our Beyond the Lungs: TB and Mental Health series, we will be sharing lived experiences from TB survivors, conversations on stigma and healing, coping journeys during treatment, and hosting a public webinar on the intersection between TB and mental health.

Because TB does not only affect the lungs, it also affects emotional and psychological wellbeing.

We begin the series with a personal story on silence, stigma, healing, and the importance of integrating mental health into TB care and response.

Read the first story below.
