Kenya Community Development Foundation

Kenya Community Development Foundation KCDF is a public philanthropic foundation that supports sustainable community-driven development.

KCDF is a Kenyan development grant-making organization, founded and registered in 1997 as a public foundation, that supports communities to initiate and drive their development agenda. Formed in 1997, KCDF is the first and oldest indigenous foundation of its kind in East Africa. We work with poor, marginalized and disadvantaged communities as our primary target group and look to provide them with

support in uplifting themselves from their situation through their own efforts. KCDF thus invests significant resources to build, strengthen and sustain the core capacities of these communities by developing thoughtful, long-term collaborations with other actors such as governments, non–profit organisations, the business sectors and individuals to achieve social justice.

On Thursday, 28th May 2025, KCDF joined TotalEnergies Kenya and Ethel Foundation For The Aged to commemorate the International Day of Living Together in Peace, a day that affirms our collective commitment to inclusive, dignified communities.

The event, held at Ushirika Medical Clinic in Kibra, Nairobi County, brought together senior citizens from Kibera's informal settlements for a day of holistic support and meaningful connection. Activities included:

✅ Nutrition and healthy ageing talks
✅ Free medical check-ups
✅ Legal awareness sessions
✅ Food support
✅ Entertainment and social engagement

For KCDF, this event reflects our deeper conviction that resilient communities are built when no one is left behind, including our elders. We are grateful for partners like TotalEnergies Marketing PLC who share this vision and invest in community-centred initiatives that promote dignity, well-being, and social cohesion.

Together, we continue to walk alongside communities in both moments of celebration and in the everyday work of building a more equitable Kenya.
