Climate change is impacting communities on varying levels.

For fishing communities along the Gulf of Guinea, it is not only altering fish distribution and productivity but also increasing competition and tension.

Dr. Toyosi Igejongbo, a One Planet Laureate, has secured a grant to advance sustainable fisheries along the Gulf of Guinea, a significant step toward strengthening marine resource management, enhancing climate resilience, and supporting the livelihoods of coastal communities.

Today, our team, represented by Dr. Susan Kaaria, Director, and Ms. Dorine Odongo, Senior Communications Manager, had the pleasure of meeting with the newly appointed Director General of KALRO, Dr. Patrick Ketiem, at the KALRO headquarters.

We were also thrilled to meet Dr. Alice Murage, Deputy Director General, Crops, and an AWARD Mentor, as well as senior managers from the organization.
