Sister for Sister Kenya is a registered association whose mission is to empower the girl child in marginalized communities through provision of sanitary towels to uplift their health and wellbeing, mentorship in education and excellence in Sport. BACKGROUND
Sister For Sister Kenya is a National Non-Profit organization, registered association by the Registrar of Societies in Kenya in October 2014
to empower the girl child through provision of sanitary towels and promoting their education to remote communities in Kenya. it has since grown to comprise a full range of socio- economic and capacity building of orphans and vulnerable children caregivers through direct home-based and effective referral services.
• Sister For Sister Kenya works with the most vulnerable Kenyan communities to achieve gender equality and empower all girls and women, and ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
• Sister For Sister Kenya believes that the power to empower the girl child lies within her communities. sister for sister Kenya works aside by side with the people of these communities to build the knowledge, skills and means to reduce inequality within and among communities; laying foundations that will be felt for generations to come.
• Sister for sister Kenya supports those at the heart of the communities, particularly the girl child, street kids, youth and young women to shape their destiny and accelerate their dreams. sister for sister learns from influences and partners with communities and community organizations, county and national governments and ministries of education, health, gender and social services, devolution and planning, national and international NGOs, networks; global, regional institutions to build long term relationships, and to ensure solutions are holistic and advocate for the girl's rights. ACHIEVEMENTS
- For the last 1.5 years we have been actively involved in charity events in several children's homes such as St Monica Roysambu, Msamaria Mwema children's home Kabete, KNH, St Teresa Narok. Through these events we have mobilized resources and involved many individuals and groups. Kajiado marathon too.
- In advocacy for the girl child we participate in the international day of the girl child, Celebration of day of the African Child, Kajiado marathon in support of sanitary towels project and international read aloud competition.
-We have demonstated ability to work with government departments, Counties, religious groups, musicians and NGOs such as Start a Library Foundation, Fahari, Inua Dada and corporates such as 7 Star Productions, RABD Consultancy Ltd and Davieroberts Entertainment Ltd. UPCOMING PROJECTS
-We are currently carrying out feasibility studies on health care for the girl child and reproductive health services at a major informal settlement in Nairobi.
