One thing was clear in our last webinar: the problem isn’t that people aren’t putting in effort in applying for jobs.
It’s that there’s no clarity in how that effort is being presented.

We had one question driving the entire conversation:
“Why am I applying so much… but hearing nothing back?”

And the answers weren’t surface-level.

We uncovered that most people are struggling with:

• Saying what they’ve done instead of showing the value they created
• Treating AI like a shortcut instead of a tool
• Undervaluing their projects, certifications, and real work
• Applying everywhere instead of positioning strategically
• Having skills but not communicating them in a way recruiters understand

The biggest takeaway?

It’s not that you’re unqualified.
It’s that your value isn’t coming through clearly.

That’s exactly why we have another FREE live session happening today, with our guest speaker Gloria Mwendwa, where we will go deeper into the reasons why you're not landing any interviews.

You’re not getting responses because you’re not taking enough action.

Not because you’re not qualified.

Not because there are no opportunities.

You’re just hesitating more than you realize.

You read a job description and focus on what you don’t have.

You tell yourself you need to improve your CV first.

You convince yourself you’ll apply “later” when you feel more ready.

And the reason you're not taking action? Confidence.

You’re not confident that you deserve the role or that you have anything to offer, yet you’ve spent months learning, building, and taking courses aligned with the job.

So you shrink. You wait. You self-reject before anyone else gets the chance to.

You either don’t apply…
Or you apply to very few roles and hope something works out.

Meanwhile, someone else who isn’t 100% qualified is applying anyway, learning as they go, and getting seen.

That’s the difference.

Confidence in your job search doesn’t come before action.

It comes from actually putting yourself out there: consistently, imperfectly, and in real opportunities.

It comes from knowing all your professional assets are optimized and stand a chance to land you interviews.

And this is exactly where most people get stuck.
Inside our 30-Day Career Readiness Program, you won’t just “learn” what to do.

You’ll actually execute:
• Clarify your positioning so you stop applying randomly
• Fix one key asset (CV, LinkedIn, or Portfolio) so it actually gets you seen

No more "let me fix my CV first." No more "I'll apply when I feel ready." The action IS the readiness.

It's time to stop preparing to prepare and start positioning yourself to actually get the call.

If you’ve been overthinking more than you’ve been applying, you already know this is you.

Comment "READY" below, and we'll send you the link to sign up for the program.

In 30 days, transform one key career asset (CV, LinkedIn, or Portfolio) into a job-ready tool aligned to a real opportunity so you can position yourself more competitively for interviews.

At Tech Sisters Kenya, we’ve spent the last few months listening closely to women in our community who are actively job searching.

Through our recent job search challenge discovery conversations, one pattern kept coming up:

Many women are building skills and completing courses…yet struggling to convert those efforts into actual interview opportunities.

The issue often isn't lack of capability.

It’s positioning and readiness.

We heard feedback like:

•"I've applied to many roles but never get shortlisted."
•"I'm not sure if my CV is actually strong."
•"I don't know if my LinkedIn profile is working for me."
• "I have projects, but I'm not sure how to present them."

In many cases the challenge lies in how career assets communicate value to employers.

• CVs that don’t clearly show impact
• LinkedIn profiles that aren’t optimized for visibility
• Portfolios that don’t fully demonstrate proof of work

And in today's landscape, these assets often determine whether a recruiter continues reading...or moves on.

That discovery led us to start building something new together with

A 30-Day Career Assets & Optimization Challenge.

Not another learning program filled with theory.

But an implementation sprint where participants focus on improving the professional assets that influence hiring decisions the most.

Over 30 days, participants will work toward:

• Defining a clear career postioning
• Optimizing one key asset(CV, LinkedIn, or Portfolio)
• Aligning that asset to a real job opportunity
• Build a structured method to continuously improve their professional presence

The goal is simple:
To move from "qualified but unseen" -> to visible, confident, and positioning-ready.

This post is the start of sharing what we're building.

If this resonates, stay close, we’ll be sharing more about the challenge in the coming days.

As we wrap up , we’re spotlighting one of our own and what leadership can look like in practice.

Cecilia Kinyua stepped into her first leadership role as our Data Lead Coordinator. No assistant, no playbook, just curiosity, courage, and the willingness to show up and figure things out. And that made all the difference.

She showed up where it mattered, supporting others, sharing knowledge, and creating space for fellow data enthusiasts to learn and grow with confidence. She also chaired our session on Introduction to Machine Learning & AI in Action, going beyond coordination to shape the experience for participants.

What stood out most wasn’t just the outcome, but her growth through the process, learning, adapting, and building confidence in real time.

Through this experience, Cecilia shared a powerful reflection:
"𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵. 𝘋𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥. 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘱 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘣 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦."

Her journey reflects something we value deeply, the freedom to try, learn, and grow without fear.
We’re proud to celebrate Cecilia and the leadership she continues to bring into the Tech Sisters Kenya community 💜
