Who We Are?
Green Circle Foundation (GCF) is a dynamic, grassroots-driven non-profit organization founded in 2015 by Kate Kirui, an environmentalist, peace ambassador and humanitarian from Uasin Gishu County,Kenya. Our foundation is built on a deep commitment to climate justice, gender equity, peacebuilding and human dignity.
Our integrated model empowers vulnerable communities’ especially women, youth, boys, persons with disabilities (PWDs), widows, orphans and teen mothers, through sustainable environmental action, economic empowerment, psychosocial support and civic education.
We are more than a foundation’ we are a movement for hope, healing, and humanity!

🌳 1. Environmental Conservation & Climate Justice
• #5 Million trees planting Campaign: Leading tree planting activities in schools, communities and degraded areas.
• Tree Nurseries in ECDEs: Established 60+ fruit and indigenous tree nurseries across ECDE centers in Uasin Gishu to foster environmental stewardship from a young age.
• Support to Tree Nursery Owners: Providing training, seedlings, and linkages to markets.
• Eco-Tourism & Climate Awareness Tours: Promoting community-led conservation tourism linked with cultural heritage and sustainability.
• Capacity Building on Climate Smart Agriculture & Waste Management
• Plastic pollution campaigns, climate education workshops, and green business incubation
👩🏽🍼 2. Women Empowerment & Economic Justice
• Initiative: Supporting 3,000+ women who collect firewood to survive with eco-alternatives like briquette-making, efficient cookstoves, and sustainable energy training. We are currently seeking sponsors and development partners to expand this life-changing initiative.
• Soap Making, Eco-Crafts & Agribusiness: Practical skills and start-up support for women and youth to reduce poverty.
• Shoeshiners’ Economic Empowerment Program
• Chick Hatching Project: Supporting self-reliance among young boys and teen fathers.

🎓 3. Youth & Education Support
• Hope for Teen Mothers: A major success—66 teenage mothers have returned to school through our intervention. We aim to support many more but face capacity challenges. We are actively seeking sponsors for continued impact.
• Empower Boy Child Initiative: Focused support on the often-neglected boy child including back-to-school campaigns and psychosocial mentorship.
• Young Green Bubbles & Young Nature Friends Clubs: Building a new generation of conservationists and community leaders.
• Digital and agribusiness training for youth

• Anti-Femicide & GBV Campaigns: Vigorous advocacy, awareness walks, community dialogues, and survivor support.
• Voice of Men Movement: Healing-focused initiative addressing men’s mental health, trauma, and violence prevention.
• Voice of Victors Media: A platform for survivors and reformed perpetrators to tell their stories and inspire change.
• The Unfiltered Talk Show hosted by Kate Kirui features raw, courageous conversations that spark action.
• Peace Campaigns: Civic education, patriotism sessions, interfaith dialogues, and trauma healing forums in conflict-prone areas.
• Prison Outreach: Offering emotional support, skills training, and reintegration preparation for inmates.
