Women in ADR was privileged to have Nick Jabura and Daisy Cherono serve as judges at the 4th Edition of the Nyayo Mediation Competitionโœจ.

It was a valuable opportunity to engage with emerging mediators, witness their preparation and skills, and contribute to a platform that continues to nurture the next generation of dispute resolvers. We appreciate Centre for Multiple Systems of Justice for creating a space where students can strengthen their mediation, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills ๐Ÿ’ซ.

The future of mediation is bright, and it is encouraging to see a new generation embracing dialogue, collaboration and peaceful dispute resolution. Women in ADR is participating in the ๐“๐€๐Š๐”๐Š๐€ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” by Ciarb Kenya, from 5โ€“9 October 2026 in Ukunda, Kwale County.

On *8th October 2026 from 8:30 AM*, FIDA-Kenya will host a panel on โ€œWomen Shaping the Future of Dispute Resolution in Africa,โ€ exploring family law arbitration, innovative mediation, community-based justice, and more inclusive approaches to access to justice. Our Chairperson Eunice Lumallas will be part of the panel together with Christine Kungu, Ilham Isham, Lucy Mutua Mulago and Ochiel Dudley. The panel provides a vital platform to advance conversations on womenโ€™s participation and leadership in arbitration, mediation and the wider dispute resolution landscape, while highlighting the importance of inclusive and accessible justice systems.

Yesterday marked the official launch of the Women in ADR Global & The Hamburg Arbitration Circle ADR Leadership Fellowship 2026 an exciting beginning to a journey centred on mentorship, leadership, learning and meaningful connections across borders.

The launch featured an insightful keynote by Barbara Kilei on the importance of mentorship in arbitration, touching on issues that resonate deeply with those navigating the profession, including: imposter syndrome, building meaningful partnerships, personal leadership and the value of intentional mentorship

The session also shared practical insights and tips on building a successful mentorship programme, highlighting the importance of creating spaces where knowledge is shared, relationships are nurtured and both mentors and mentees can grow.

It was a truly engaging and inspiring launch, setting the tone for what promises to be a meaningful International arbitration mentorship. ๐ŸŽ‰
