Environmental work creates impact; but impact must also be communicated. ๐
This week, we held an immersion meeting with D&R Impact Studios to explore how we can strengthen the way we communicate our programmes, expertise and impact to different audiences.
From air quality and climate change to methane, biodiversity, environmental compliance and One Health, much of our work involves complex technical issues.
The challenge and opportunity is to translate this knowledge into stories that are clear, relatable, evidence-based and capable of inspiring action.
D&R Impact shared its 360-degree development communications approach, covering:
๐ Insight and strategy
๐ Storytelling and knowledge products
๐ฅ Production
๐ฃ Amplification
๐ฌ Audience engagement
๐ Measurement and learning
The discussion reinforced something we strongly believe at ECI: communication is not an afterthought to environmental action. It is part of the pathway from evidence to influence and from knowledge to action.
We look forward to exploring how this potential collaboration can help bring more of Africaโs environmental solutions, expertise and impact to the audiences that need to see and hear them.
Better environmental action needs better environmental communication.
