We were privileged to host the Malaysian Ambassador to Kenya together with Dr. Jennifer Riria, the Founder and ED Echo Network Africa Foundation - ENAF, as we commemorated World Day at Kibera Primary and Junior Secondary School.

The distribution of dignity kits to our girls is a reminder that every girl deserves to learn with confidence, pursue her dreams boldly, and never feel limited by menstruation.

The day was even more impactful with the donation of a Mobile Science Laboratory Kit supported by the Embassy through ENAF, opening doors for learners to explore subjects and discover the endless possibilities within science, technology, engineering, and innovation.

In partnership, we are raising confident children, nurturing future leaders, and building a generation that believes there are no limits to what they can achieve.

Amani Kibera was represented at the Intergenerational Dialogue on Cultural Shifts and Supporting Women’s Use of Technology for Economic Advancement during the African Tech Policy Summit 2026 hosted by at Shalom House.

The dialogue explored how culture and generations shape the way communities engage with technology. In informal settlements, many women are already using digital tools for small businesses, communication, and everyday needs, yet challenges such as digital illiteracy, online safety risks, and fear of online abuse continue to limit meaningful participation.

The discussions highlighted the importance of creating safe and inclusive digital spaces through community learning, digital safety awareness, and respectful online engagement. Strengthening women’s confidence and access to technology not only expands economic opportunities, but also supports stronger community connections and peaceful coexistence within informal settlements.

When the girls sing together, it feels bigger than football and bigger than winning. In their voices, you hear healing, joy, unity, and the confidence of young girls learning that they belong, just as they are.

Through football and music, they are finding strength in each other, growing into themselves, and proudly taking up their space in the world.

Amani Kibera attended a training by Tatua Digital Resilience Centre at together with Huawei Kenya and , focusing on the growing cyber threats facing Human Rights Defenders and Social Justice Organisations.

Today, we use our phones for almost everything, from messages, work, banking, photos, and even speaking out on issues affecting our society. But the hard truth is that the same devices connecting us to the world can also expose us to danger.

Cyber threats, spyware, scams, and surveillance are real, and they affect more ordinary people than many realize. That is why learning about cyber safety is something everyone needs in today’s digital world.

Because protecting our digital space also means protecting our voices, our privacy, and our communities. Without digital safety knowledge, being online is like leaving your house unlocked.

Last weeks, we have had the pleasure of hosting visitors from fellow social enterprises interested in building sustainable partnership and supporting our work together with other social enterprises and individuals around our community. It was encouraging to share ideas and see growing interest in what we are creating.

We also received our Uwezo Social Enterprise Guide developed by students from the The London School of Economics and Political Science - LSE after months of collaboration with our team and the community around us. We are truly happy to see the outcome and grateful for the time and effort they invested in this journey that was started with the help of NairoBits Trust.

Now the real implementation work begins.

We are excited for what lies ahead and thankful to everyone walking this journey with us.

A few months ago, two co-founders — Simon Prahm of and our own Ben Ooko of Amani Kibera — spent part of their workday walking through the store at The Hub in Karen, inspired by the possibilities sport can create within communities.

Yesterday, they had the privilege of being warmly welcomed to share the vision behind the we are jointly implementing at Ngei Primary School, as well as the ongoing work both organizations continue to build within the community.

It was refreshing to exchange ideas around sport, youth culture, community impact, and the power of creating safe spaces where young people can grow, connect, and express themselves through the power of values-based sports.

We are grateful for the openness, the conversations, and the opportunity to explore areas where our missions align. This is only the beginning of meaningful conversations, and we are excited to see where the journey leads.

Our playmakers are taking part in an intensive 3-day Teen STAR training, the world’s leading sexuality and affectivity mentorship program. The training conducted by our close friends and partners, Foundation, is equipping our team with deeper skills to guide young people through the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual aspects of growth with dignity, self-awareness, and responsibility.

In a community like Kibera, where many adolescents face daily life pressure, misinformation, abuse, and early pregnancies, education and awareness remains one of the strongest tools for empowerment. The program focuses on helping young people understand themselves better, strengthen their self-esteem, and move from being controlled by emotions and hormones to making informed and responsible choices.

This journey is even more exciting in that after the training, Amani Kibera playmakers will translate the knowledge gained into creative sports drills and experiential learning activities. Through the Rafiki League, mentorship, play and safe spaces, adolescents will live and experience the lessons in ways they can easily understand and apply in their daily lives.

Our intention is to build confident, informed, disciplined, and empowered young leaders for Kibera and beyond.

Today, we had the privilege of participating in the Embassy of Denmark in Kenya and Somalia seminar on on Governance, Civic Space, Democracy, Voice & Accountability in the East Africa Region, an important gathering focused on reflection, peer learning, and strategic dialogue around strengthening democratic participation and civic engagement across the region.

Amani Kibera's Co-founder Ben Ooko and Serena Rumona were honored to join Simon Prahm, the Executive Director of GAME, our partner organization who shared our collective journey of engaging youth from Kenya and Somaliland through value based sports, community dialogues, and leadership-driven initiatives that empower young people to become active voices in the society.

From the presentations, the seminar reaffirmed the importance of investing in youth spaces where ideas are nurtured, voices are amplified, and communities are transformed. Through the power of sport and dialogue, young people are leading change.

We remain grateful for the partnerships, and opportunities that continue to strengthen youth leadership and democratic engagement across East Africa.

A vision becomes powerful when many hearts and minds choose to build it together. The ongoing consultations and weekly engagements surrounding the GAME beautifully reflect the strength of multi-sectoral collaboration, where professionals, contractors, consultants, and clients continuously come together to ensure every detail is thoughtfully planned and executed.

It is truly inspiring to witness the dedication, expertise, and intentional effort being invested into creating a Hub that is meaningful, functional, and impactful for the community it is meant to serve.

To every professional and stakeholder involved, thank you for being part of something greater than construction. Th is already becoming a beautiful symbol of teamwork, purposeful planning, and community transformation.
