When we come together as a community, we light the world with magic. For every child we educate, we empower our community to stand for itself and create hope for families to have a better future.

Listen to Mercy (16) and Reagan (14), our two Grade 9 students with dreams of becoming environmental journalists, as they tell the story of what it means to have a better, cleaner, and healthier environment. They carry an important message that we should all listen to, bringing our attention to what is happening around us and reminding us that we must stand up and protect our environment.

Our school recently hosted an academic day where parents joined their children to see what they have been learning and achieving at school. We are making it our priority to keep our parents closely informed and involved in every part of their child’s journey. Together, we are protecting their childhood and building their future. Our promise to our students is simple: a safe place to learn and a supportive hand to hold. By staying connected with their parents, we ensure that every child feels valued and protected, both in school and at home.

Allowing children to simply be children is at the heart of what we do. By creating spaces where they feel seen, heard, and valued, we give them the freedom to grow into the best versions of themselves. In doing so, we nurture their confidence, encourage their self expression, and inspire a strong sense of hope for the future. 🌱✨

Met Victor and Bernard, two bright minds in Grade Eight at our sponsorship school, full of big dreams and even bigger energy. They love dancing and bring joy to everyone around them, and this week they would like to share that same energy with you.

Weekends at The Watoto Library are special ✨

In Kibera, where many families still lack access to televisions and digital devices, our library becomes a window to the world.

Every weekend, we gather our children to watch movies, animations, wildlife documentaries, and stories about different countries and cultures. Through one shared screen, they explore oceans, forests, cities, and communities far beyond their surroundings. They learn by seeing, by listening, and by imagining what is possible.

We believe education goes beyond books and classrooms. It also lives in storytelling, curiosity, laughter, and shared experiences.

These moments keep our children engaged, inspired, and away from harmful and unproductive activities. As much as we champion academics, we also create space for joy, excitement, and safe childhood memories.

Because every child deserves not only to learn but to experience happiness.

At our school, mathematics is not feared, it is embraced. Mathematics is more than numbers, it is a way of thinking, problem solving, and understanding the world around us.

Valeria Tasha speaks about her passion for mathematics and its importance in shaping how we think and solve real world problems. As a STEM focused institution, we intentionally create an environment where learners are encouraged to explore, question, and excel in mathematics as a core pillar of science, technology, engineering, and innovation.

We were honored to host Øyvind Aadland, together with students from the Intercultural Studies Department at NLA University College, Norway, as we shared conversations on culture, youth, dignity, and the immense potential of young people in Kenya.

With over 73% of our population being youth, the energy, ambition, and dreams we witness every day are a powerful reminder of why investing in young people matters. By honoring cultural roots while embracing progress, we nurture values of compassion, unity, and love that shape a stronger future.

Building understanding across cultures starts with listening, learning, and respect. Culture connects us. Dignity grounds us. Youth inspires us.

We are deeply grateful to Tess for reminding us that when words fail, art speaks. 🎨

Through art therapy, she creates a safe and nurturing space where our students can express big emotions they may not yet have the words for. With no pressure to talk, feelings naturally come out through color, movement, and creativity. This powerful work helps our children feel safe, seen, and supported as they heal and grow.

Thank you, Tess, for walking alongside our learners with such care and compassion. 💛

Meet Victoria, a volunteer who shows up three times a week to walk alongside our Grade 8 and 9 learners as they build confidence in English and discover new ways of learning ✨ When we invest in young people, they rise and they take their communities with them. This is what community-driven education looks like. We are proud to be walking this journey as a community. Thank you, Victoria, for being here with us. We appreciate and value you very much. Asante sana ❤️

This weekend marked an important step for our program as our Grade 8 and 9 students engaged in advanced cybersecurity learning with the AfricaHackon team, led by founder Dr. Bright Gameli. Students aged 13–15 explored Kali Linux, virtualization, and cybersecurity career pathways, strengthening their understanding of the digital world and their place in it, while building technical skills and digital safety awareness.

Building on the foundation Amar laid late last year, our students continue to deepen their cybersecurity skills with Dr. Bright. They are not just learning technology, they are learning how to use these skills to serve and protect their communities. We are proud to stand with them on this journey, supporting every step as they grow into confident, capable changemakers.
