Day One of the Justice for Girls Festival has created space for girls, young women, civil society organisations, advocates and allies to come together, share experiences, exchange learning and strengthen collective action for girls’ rights.
The conversations have highlighted the importance of centering girls’ voices and lived experiences in shaping policies, programmes and solutions that affect their lives. They have also reinforced the need for sustained collaboration across movements and sectors to address the structural inequalities, social norms and harmful practices that continue to limit girls’ rights and opportunities.
For Girls Not Brides Kenya: The Kenyan Partnership to End Child Marriage, advancing justice for girls means strengthening collective efforts to end child marriage and FGM/C while supporting an enabling environment where girls can exercise their rights, participate meaningfully in decisions that affect them and realise their full potential.
As Day One comes to a close, the message is clear: lasting change for girls requires collective action, meaningful participation and sustained commitment.
