Today marks a significant milestone in our commitment to building a safer, more inclusive future for children and young people. Welcomed to Parliament Buildings by the WSPU - Kenya President Sen. Tabitha Mutinda-Wekeza Na Mama and Senator Esther Okenyuri representing Fondazione L'Albero della Vita, Director General Isabella Catapano, Global Program Director Antonio Bancora, Tree of Life Kenya Country Representative Bonface Buluma, and Kenya Program Coordinator Federico Tosca officially signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Scout Parliamentary Union Kenya

This strategic partnership brings together our collective strengths to advance:

Every child deserves uninterrupted access to quality healthcare, regardless of their care arrangement.

We welcome the Social Health Authority's latest guidance on the documentation required to access healthcare services for children in alternative care. Clear processes strengthen accountability, improve service delivery, and ensure that no child is left behind.

At The Tree of Life Kenya, we have long championed family-based care, foster care, and other alternative care solutions because every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a safe, nurturing, and loving family environment.

As Kenya continues to strengthen its care reform agenda, collaboration between government institutions, child protection actors, caregivers, and healthcare providers remains essential to ensuring that children in alternative care enjoy their full rights, including the right to health.

We encourage foster parents, kinship caregivers, guardians, children's homes, and all stakeholders to familiarize themselves with these requirements to facilitate seamless access to healthcare.

Together, we can build a Kenya where every child is protected, cared for, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Every decent job creates new opportunities for women, strengthens families and helps protect children from vulnerability.

Through the WINGS Project, L'Albero della Vita in collaboration with Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) National Industrial Training Authority - NITA United Disabled Persons of Kenya -UDPK is supporting 400 vulnerable women to gain professional skills in domestic work, care and business support services. By combining vocational training, digital tools, employment partnerships and employer awareness, we're opening pathways to decent work, financial independence and brighter futures.

Together, we're proving that investing in women is investing in stronger families and safer communities.

Funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation AICS Nairobi.

💧🌍 DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD 2026 🌍💧

Fifty years after the children of Soweto stood courageously to demand their right to education, millions of African children are still fighting for something fundamental, the right to clean water, safe sanitation, and healthy learning environments.

A child cannot focus in class when water is unsafe.
A girl should never miss school because there are no dignified sanitation facilities.
No child should have to choose between education and health.

This year's Day of the African Child theme reminds us that access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) is not a privilege, it is a right.

At The Tree of Life Kenya, we believe that every drop of clean water protects a child's health, preserves their dignity, and unlocks their potential.

Today, we honor the spirit of the Soweto children by continuing the fight for a future where every African child can learn, grow, and thrive.

⚽🌱 Red Card to Child Labour!

Today, The Tree of Life Kenya, in partnership with the World Parliamentary Scouts Union (WSPU) Kenya, joined the global community in marking the World Day Against Child Labour 2026 under the theme:

"Red Card to Child Labour: Fair Play for Children, Decent Work for Adults."

Held at the House of Philanthropy in Westlands, Nairobi, the day featured an awareness campaign highlighting children's rights, a symbolic model farm demonstration showcasing agriculture as a pathway to decent work and sustainable livelihoods, and engaging sports activities promoting teamwork, inclusion, and fair play.

Every child deserves a childhood filled with learning, play, and opportunity, not labour. Together, we must strengthen access to quality education, social protection, and decent work opportunities for adults to address the root causes of child labour.

Despite progress, millions of children worldwide remain trapped in child labour. Today, we raise our voices and our red cards to demand a future where every child can thrive.
