⚽🌱 Red Card to Child Labour!

Today, The Tree of Life Kenya, in partnership with the World Parliamentary Scouts Union (WSPU) Kenya, joined the global community in marking the World Day Against Child Labour 2026 under the theme:

"Red Card to Child Labour: Fair Play for Children, Decent Work for Adults."

Held at the House of Philanthropy in Westlands, Nairobi, the day featured an awareness campaign highlighting children's rights, a symbolic model farm demonstration showcasing agriculture as a pathway to decent work and sustainable livelihoods, and engaging sports activities promoting teamwork, inclusion, and fair play.

Every child deserves a childhood filled with learning, play, and opportunity, not labour. Together, we must strengthen access to quality education, social protection, and decent work opportunities for adults to address the root causes of child labour.

Despite progress, millions of children worldwide remain trapped in child labour. Today, we raise our voices and our red cards to demand a future where every child can thrive.

Happy 63rd Madaraka Day from all of us at The Tree of Life Kenya. 🇰🇪✨As we celebrate the day Kenya attained self-governance, we look at these children and are reminded of what true freedom looks like, the freedom for every child to grow up safe, protected, and full of hope. Our heritage is rooted in family and foster care because we know that a strong, self-governing nation begins with protected and empowered children. Today, we honor our past by investing in the future architects of our country. Let us continue to nurture, protect, and guide the next generation. God bless Kenya.

Every child thrives when wrapped in the love, stability, and warmth of a family. 💙

This World Foster Care Day 2026, The Tree of Life Kenya celebrates the incredible foster parents who open their hearts and homes to provide a sanctuary for children in need. As strong proponents of progressive foster care and family-based solutions in Kenya, we believe that institutional care should only ever be a temporary stepping stone, family is the destination.

Are you ready to be part of a child's story? Together, we can ensure no child grows up without a place to truly call home.

Take a look at the incredible energy coming out of our Screen-Printing training session under the House of Philanthropy (HOP) hub!

For vulnerable youth and young care-leavers, access to practical, market-ready skills is a gamechanger. This hands-on program goes far beyond learning how to press ink onto fabric, it equips our students with essential entrepreneurship, product design, and business management skills.

Our ultimate goal? To foster self-reliance, unlock untapped potential, and empower a generation of young entrepreneurs capable of transforming their own economic futures, and by extension, creating safer, more stable environments for children at home.

🌍 Together, we are building a more inclusive economic foundation for Kenya's youth.

🌙 Eid al‑Adha Mubarak from The Tree of Life Kenya.

As we celebrate the Festival of Sacrifice, a time of devotion, charity, and gratitude, we reflect on the deeper meaning of giving. Beyond Qurbani, Eid al‑Adha reminds us of our shared duty to protect and nurture those in need.

In Islam, Kafala (كفالة) embodies this spirit, a sacred act of guardianship and sponsorship that allows families and individuals to care for orphans and vulnerable children with love, dignity, and responsibility. It is not adoption, but a voluntary commitment to provide protection, upbringing, and support, a living expression of compassion and faith.

This Eid, we invite Muslim brothers and sisters to consider Kafala as a lasting form of sacrifice and mercy. Together, we can transform lives and uphold the values that define our faith.

📩 Reach out to us at [email protected] to learn how you can participate in Kafala and help build a future rooted in care and community.

Did you know Wednesdays?

Children grow best where they feel loved, safe, and connected. 💛

According to UNICEF, children raised in family care are more likely to experience stable emotional development and stronger social connections than those raised in institutions.

At The Tree of Life Kenya, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a nurturing family environment where they can thrive, belong, and reach their full potential.

Because families are the foundation of childhood.

Child protection starts with economic empowerment.

When women, youth, and persons with disabilities have access to dignified work and practical skills, families become stronger, more stable, and better able to care for children.

At The Tree of Life Kenya, employability is not just about jobs - it is about skills development, dignity, opportunity, and keeping families together.

Through the WINGS Project, supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo - Ufficio di Nairobi under the leadership of Fondazione L'Albero della Vita and CISP Africa The Tree of Life Kenya is helping create inclusive pathways to sustainable livelihoods and safer futures for vulnerable families and communities.

Because stronger livelihoods help build stronger families - and stronger families protect children.
