Hi, I’m Aurora, I’m an intern at AIFED and today I had the chance to join the first meeting with our partners from Kenya!

It was such a nice way to get to know each other and start our collaboration. We met in a virtual room in the metaverse, decorated with photos of Granada and Nairobi, so that we could walk around and discover more about the two cities. It was really innovative and fun, and a great way to start this project together.🌐

The meeting was mostly about introductions: they presented themselves, we introduced ourselves and the city, and at the end we even did a small quiz game together! It was a light and interactive way to break the ice.🤝🫂

The project aims to empower young people to fight racism and xenophobia, but today it was more about making connections. It was a great start and I’m curious to see how much we can achieve.✨

Call for Participants: Young People Against Xenophobia and Racism

Date: 5th December 2025
Time: 12:00 PM Kenyan time
Location: Online

About the Project

Kenya rarely documents racism publicly, yet its impact is real. Some groups, such as biracial individuals, continue to face social exclusion and challenges in obtaining legal identity.
Xenophobia in Kenya often shows up as ethnic discrimination. A 2023 report highlights that dominant ethnic groups still occupy most government positions, leaving minority communities overlooked and underrepresented.
This project aims to create awareness, empower young people, and spark meaningful conversations on fighting racism and xenophobia within our communities.

Who Can Participate?
We are looking for motivated young people who:
Are aged 18–35
Reside in Kenya
If this is you, join us as we take a stand for a more inclusive Kenya.
More details on registration will follow.
