THE CROSS
The cross of Jesus Christ is the origin of grace. It is the symbol of death. Perhaps you have seen people carrying one, others wearing them- they call it the rosary. That's not what we will study here. When you see one carrying it,ask yourself which one is he/she carrying because there were 3 crosses at calvary each with a man hanged on it.
1. The cross of rebellion
2. The cross of redemption and
3. The cross of Repentance.
Which one do you carry? The bible says do not make any engraven image of anything in heaven,on earth or underneath and worship it.
Jesus Christ is not on the cross. He resurrected. He sits on the right hand side of God interceding for us.He is our high priest for ever.
THE CROSS OF REDEMPTION.
Ephesians 2:16-18
This cross was not meant for Jesus Christ. He died on the cross meant for the thief called Barabas. This is symbolic that man is supposed to die because of his own sins. Sin separated us from God. Adam was fellowshipping with God every morning and evening until sin entered into the arena.Christ reconciled us back to God. He destroyed the barrier through His own blood. He died outside the city. His death in the cross brought us 5 things-
1. He reconciled us with God.(2 Corinthians:5:18-21). Man was rebelious. Man was looking for God through his own ways.Man had his own religion.
2. Jesus Christ redeemed us.
We were redeemed from forces of darkness and sin to God's glory.
3. Deliverance. We were delivered from the power of the devil.Jesus Christ set us free.
4. Pardon. Our sins were pardoned. We are forgiven. Now we are like we never sinned.
5. Salvation. (1 peter 1:9-12). We were saved from the wrath of God.
Let us therefore not take this grace lightly. The time we are living in was desired by the prophets when Holy Spirit prophesied to them concerning this salvation. They intently searched with creates care trying to find out time and circumstances.
Jesus Christ is the way,the truth and the life. Be blessed.
