Green Globe Realisation is currently preparing for its annual tree-planting initiatives.

Our past success in greening degraded areas in northern Kenya and other regions across the country has inspired our ongoing commitment to environmental restoration across Kenya and the globe.

Our mission is to combat climate change by actively engaging and empowering affected communities.

We enthusiastically invite partners , organizations, governments entities and individuals to collaborate with us in this year's restoration efforts.

Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods.

Today, we reflect on how biodiversity sustains our livelihoods. Food, medicine, housing, clothing, and even fuel are all supplied by the ecosystems surrounding us. From this, we can clearly see the importance of protecting and conserving every single plant, tree, and ecosystem around us.

These are maps showing forest cover around the world. This should act as a reminder of how important it is to keep these precious ecosystems safe and even plant more to places facing degradation.

Here are some few facts on forests cover around the world.

1. Forests cover about 4.14 billion hectares, which is roughly 32 % of the world’s land area ≈0.5 ha per person.

2. Nearly half of all forests are located in tropical regions.

3. The annual rate of net forest loss has fallen from about 10.7 million hectares per year in the 1990s to about 4.12 million hectares per year for 2015–2025.

4. The annual area of deforestation slowed to ~10.9 million ha/year 2015–2025 from ~17.6 million ha/year 1990–2000. Meanwhile, forest expansion also slowed from ~9.9 million ha/year in 2000–15 to ~6.78 million ha/year in 2015–2025.

5. Primary forests, forests not significantly disturbed by humans, still cover at least ~1.18 billion hectares—around one-third of total reported forest area.

6. More than half of the global forest area is concentrated in just five countries: Russia, Brazil, Canada, United States and China.

Today is World Food Day.

We appreciate The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations for its tireless efforts in fighting hunger and improving food security across the world. Their work has helped millions gain access to better nutrition and sustainable farming practices. On this World Food Day, we honor their lasting impact and continued dedication to ending hunger for all.

In addition, let’s stand together to ensure everyone enjoys access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food. May this day remind us of our shared responsibility to end hunger and build a food-secure world for all.

Involving the young people in greening Kenya has always been our priority. Our aim is to ensure that the young generation recognize the importance of planting trees and taking part in activities that'll combat climate change across Kenya and beyond.

Green Globe Realisation, together with our partners, is committed to achieving the national goal of planting 15 billion trees by 2032. Through our active tree planting initiatives in North Eastern Kenya — notably at Senior Chief Ogle Girls, we continue to drive the vision of a greener, more sustainable Kenya and inspire environmental action beyond our borders.
