From a young age, Evans Oluoch Onyango was always curious about wires, electricity, and how power systems work. What started as a simple passion while growing up has now turned into a real career in the solar industry.

Today, Evans, an alumni of Solar Mtaani, is part of the team working on a massive 997KW solar installation project at Supra Industrial Area. His journey is a strong example of how passion, skills, and determination can open doors for young people.

Over the years, Evans has continued to grow through hands-on experience in different large solar projects. He first worked on a 30KW installation in Muthaiga, then joined another project in Industrial Area where he helped work on an 887KW installation. He later became part of the team at Sunflag on a 990KW solar project, and now he is contributing to the 997KW installation at Supra Industrial Area.

His story is special because his interest in electrical work started long before the training and professional experience. He always wanted to understand wires and power systems, and today that passion is helping him build a future in clean and sustainable energy.

We are proud to see Evans continue growing in the renewable energy sector and inspiring other young people to believe in their dreams and use their skills to create change in their communities.

His story reminds us that sometimes the small interests we have as children can grow into something life-changing.

Meet Peter Oyieko, an alumni of Solar Mtaani whose journey is a true reflection of growth, hard work, and opportunity. Peter began his path as an intern, learning the basics of solar technology through hands-on training and dedication. Today, he is proudly working with Illumina at Supra Industrial Area on a massive 900KW solar installation project — helping power industries through clean and sustainable energy.

Stories like Peter’s remind us why skills training, mentorship, and community empowerment are important. From the classroom to large-scale field installations, young people are proving that with the right support and determination, they can transform not only their own lives but also the future of renewable energy in Kenya.

We are proud to share his journey and celebrate the impact that solar training continues to create in communities. ⚡

His full video story is coming soon. Stay tuned as we highlight his experience, challenges, and the journey from intern to professional solar technician.

At Solar Mtaani, stories like this remind us why we continue doing this work.

A few years ago, Ken Mugaisi joined us as a student and later became an intern with a quiet personality and little confidence in public speaking. Today, Ken is the Head of Sales and Technical Operations at Felicity Solar.

Watching his growth has been powerful. From learning solar installation skills step by step, to becoming a leader in the industry, Ken’s journey shows what opportunity, training, and consistency can do.

Coming from Kibera, Ken is now building a better life for himself through clean energy and hard work. He is now confident, well spoken, and helping others understand the importance of solar energy every day.

His story is one of many success stories from Solar Mtaani — proof that talent exists everywhere when young people are given a chance.

Full video coming soon.

Solar Mtaani is about people. It is about young men and women learning real skills that can change their lives. In these moments, you see youth on rooftops, working together, learning how to install solar panels with their own hands. They are not just helping today — they are preparing for tomorrow. They are becoming technicians, problem solvers, and professionals in clean energy.

This training gives more than knowledge. It gives confidence. It gives dignity. It opens doors to jobs, to business, and to a future where they can support themselves and their communities. Every panel installed is not just power for a building, but power for a life.

This is what Solar Mtaani stands for — building skills, creating opportunities, and empowering a generation through solar energy.
