Something has been happening quietly behind the scenes since our last Jasiri season in November and December.

Over the past few months, we have taken time to reflect, rebuild, refine, and ask ourselves deeper questions about what boys today truly need as they grow into young men. The world our boys are growing up in is changing rapidly. Digitally native and deeply urbanized young people are facing new pressures, new influences, new distractions, and new identity challenges that require more intentional guidance than ever before.

As a result, we’ve been carefully updating and strengthening different parts of the Jasiri Experience — not just the activities or structure of the program, but also the philosophy behind how we walk with both boys and their families during this important season of life.

One thing has become clearer to us than ever before: parents remain the primary agents of change in a child’s life. Because of this, one of our major areas of focus moving forward will be becoming even more intentional about how we equip, communicate with, and partner alongside parents throughout the Jasiri journey.

At the same time, we have also been preparing to widen the reach and impact of the work. In the months ahead, we will begin sharing more of our materials, ideas, and resources with families, schools, churches, and organizations that care deeply about raising grounded, responsible, and courageous young people. We look forward to building thoughtful partnerships with people and institutions who believe this work matters.

From day one, our guiding ethos has remained the same: to provide the very best support, guidance, mentorship, and experiences for boys as they grow. That mission has not changed. If anything, it has become clearer and more urgent and we will make sure as few boys as possible walk the journey to greatness alone

Now that this rebuilding phase is coming to an end, we are excited for what lies ahead.

We have many stories to tell.
Many voices to highlight.
Many lessons to share.
And many more young men to serve.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be opening up the Jasiri story more intentionally than ever before — sharing reflections, parent experiences, alumni journeys, camp moments, lessons we’ve learned, and updates on what’s next for the program and the wider Nawiri vision.

So to everyone who has walked with us, supported us, trusted us with their sons, or quietly followed the journey from afar:

Are you SERIOUSLY searching for the best and most impactful rite of passage program for your son?

We know how frustrating it is to look for a program that effectively mentors boys at this stage of life. Which is why The Jasiri Experience exists. šŸŽÆ

This is a Christian program for discerning parents who want something safe, intentional and deeply thought through. A program crafted by men who understand exactly what boys need to hear today.

We've walked with hundreds of families through this critical season: equipping their sons with a rich, character-shaping curriculum that continues to deliver long after the program ends. Deeply invested mentors lead every session and they actively model what it means to be a great man.

If you know your son deserves the best and you refuse to leave his future to chance then you also know that you only get one attempt at navigating this transition well. Let’s work together to strengthen his identity, deepen his maturity, expand his worldview and anchor his destiny. Let’s work together to make your son a man among men.

šŸ”„ From Jasiri to Mentor: Victor’s Journey šŸ”„

A few years ago, a boy named Victor stepped into our very first Jasiri cohort.

Like many boys his age, he arrived full of questions, full of quiet uncertainty - standing at the edge of adolescence, unsure of what manhood truly meant.

But he didn’t leave the same way.

Victor walked away with more than just happy memories. He left with vision. With purpose and with a grounded understanding of what it means to be a man among men.

And in the years that followed, that understanding became his anchor; steadfast even as high school life provided its challenges

But the most powerful part of Victor’s story isn’t what he gained.
It's what he gave back.

While still in high school; juggling exams, peer pressure, and the growing pains of teenage life, Victor kept returning to the Jasiri Experience.

Not because he had to.
But because something had been awakened in him:
A desire to guide.
To walk with others.
To show up for the next generation.

And year after year, that’s exactly what he did.

Faithfully. Quietly. With heart.

Today, we’re proud to say:
That boy is now a young man.
And that young man is now officially part of the Jasiri team.

Victor joins us this year as a full-time facilitator - walking alongside the next wave of Jasirians, just as others once walked with him.

He embodies the values we hold most dear:
Integrity. Humility. Courage.
And above all, a sacred commitment to intergenerational mentorship.

Victor is living proof of what’s possible.
Not just for him but for any boy raised with intention, community, and love.

This is what mentorship done right can do.
This is the power of a rite of passage rooted in truth.

To the parents reading this:

If you’ve ever wondered whether deep transformation is real
If you’ve longed for your son to have strong, grounded role models
If you’ve wished for him to belong to a brotherhood that nurtures responsibility

Then maybe, just maybe, your son is ready for the Jasiri Experience.

Because here, we don’t just prepare boys for the future.
We build the future.
One boy. One mentor. One family at a time.

Welcome home, Victor.
We’re honoured to walk with you again. šŸ”„

What a ride that was.

Thank you for walking with us through this recap series. Every image, every word -each one a small echo of the laughter, courage, growth, and love that filled last year’s Jasiri Experience. We hope it stirred something in you, the way it has in us.

And now... how about we start telling you about this year’s programs?

We will. Don’t worry.

But first, we figured you might want a moment to revisit the reflections. Maybe even share a post or two with someone who needs to see it.

In the meantime, we’re opening the gates!

When people think of a rite of passage, they often picture it as a men’s only affair.
And while that image holds some truth - it’s definitely not the whole story.
Because at Jasiri, mothers are never left behind.
In fact, without them, the journey would be incomplete.
Behind the scenes, our Jasiri mums coordinate quietly but in big ways- praying for their sons, prepping their gifts and covering them with love even from a distance.
Midweek, they send a surprise package: a carefully chosen gift, packed with warmth, encouragement, and a quiet reminder - you are not forgotten.
The boys never see it coming.

And then comes the final day - the commissioning ceremony.
The moment when we witness the full beauty of family.
The boys step forward, having walked the path from boyhood to young manhood.
They’re greeted with cheers, proud tears, strong embraces.
And then they’re welcomed home - not just physically, but symbolically.
But not as boys.
As young men.
Their mothers welcome them with pride and celebration.
They speak blessings over them. They offer words of encouragement.
And in that moment, the circle of support that helped raise them… gently releases them into the world.

To every Jasiri mum who has trusted us with her son -
We see you.
We honour you.
We thank you.
And as your son walks into this next stage of life, we gently ask one more thing:
Don’t baby him.
He’s ready to carry more. Ready to be more. Ready to grow.

Thank you mums, for standing with us.
Thank you for working with us to raise sons the world can count on.

We absolutely have to take the time to celebrate the back bone of our experiences: our facilitators.

Dear facilitators,

Thank you for staying up late to debrief when everyone else has gone to sleep.
For walking alongside our boys - literally - on dusty hikes, in quiet conversations, and through some of the hardest questions life throws at that age.
Thank you for being older brothers who lead with wisdom, not ego.
For creating spaces where our boys feel safe enough to open up, and strong enough to grow.
You’ve been there - on the frontlines of transition.
In Bible study circles. Around fires. On the fields. In the laughter and in the silence.
Some of you have been with us for years.
Some came back as alumni, choosing to give what you once received.
You get the mission - and because of that, our boys don’t just attend a program. They join a movement.
They see who you are - patient, nurturing, full of heart - and it makes them want to be better.
Some of them have already said: ā€œI want to come back and help others, just like they helped me.ā€
That’s how change lasts.

We see you. We honour you. We’re endlessly grateful for you.
And we’re proud to walk this journey with the kind of men who will grow into extraordinary fathers and leaders one day.
Thank you, from all of us at Nawiri.

We couldn’t do this without you - and honestly, we wouldn’t want to.

One of the most powerful moments in the Jasiri Experience happens quietly, away from the group, without cameras or announcements.

On the night before the fathers arrive at camp, each boy is handed a sealed envelope. Inside it is a handwritten letter from his parents. It's not fancy. There’s no performance. Just a few pages of honest words written at home by the people who’ve known him longest. Often, it’s the first personal letter he’s ever received in his life.
He’s told to find a quiet spot, sit down, and read it in silence. No one is told what to feel. But inevitably, emotions surface - some blink fast to hold back tears, others let them fall (a sign that the letter was well written) It’s a moment that will be remembered for a long time to come.

Parents don’t get to rewrite it, rehearse it, or explain what they meant. If you fumble the letter - that’s on you. But no boy goes without one. That’s non-negotiable. Because in that moment, we want every single participant to know they are loved, they are remembered, and they are being called forward into something bigger.
What makes this moment even more meaningful is that it opens up space for the boys to write back. And sometimes they do. We’ve read responses where young men have committed themselves to becoming honourable, dependable adults - not because anyone asked them to, but because something in those letters stirred their sense of responsibility. Something shifted. They wanted to make their parents proud.

Over the years, we’ve read some exceptional letters - raw, wise, deeply affirming notes that seem to say all the right things at exactly the right time. This year, we’ll be sharing a few of those letters (with permission) to encourage other parents - not just those attending Jasiri - to take this opportunity seriously and write with intention.
Because when done well, a letter isn’t just a collection of sentences on a page. It’s a bridge between generations. It’s the moment a boy begins to understand how much is expected of him, and how deeply he is believed in.

There’s something about the written word - about seeing love and belief spelled out clearly in ink - that speaks louder than lectures and lasts longer than speeches.

So our encouragement is simple: write to your children. Not just when they leave for camp, or graduate, or make a mistake. Write to them at different moments in their lives. Tell them what you see in them. Tell them what you hope for them. Remind them who they are, and who they are becoming.

It may feel small. But trust us - it matters.

This One’s for the Fathers!!

On the second to last day of the Jasiri Experience, at the crack of dawn, something sacred always unfolds.
Fathers arrive early - some quiet, some laughing, but all with a sense of purpose. They roll up their sleeves, unpack spices, gather firewood, and get to work. There’s no ceremony yet - just men doing what men do best when it’s time to provide: they work. And on this day, they do it entirely for their sons. The energy can only be described as Purposeful.
Because this isn’t just any day.
This is Father’s Day at The Jasiri Experience.

A day reserved exclusively for the fathers and father figures of the boys in our program. A day that doesn't run on a curriculum or a facilitator’s plan. A day that belongs - entirely and completely - to the men who raised these boys… and to the young men these boys are becoming.
No boy is left out. Every single one must have a father or father figure present.
That’s our rule. And we’ve never made an exception. Because on this day, presence is everything.
It begins with work. The fathers cook, not because they have to-but because they want to. They prepare a feast as a message: ā€œAs men, when it is expected of us: we provide. We serve. We show up. We workā€
And after everything is ready and the boys sit down to eat-plates full of nyama choma, roasted potatoes, fire-roasted vegetables and Ugali -they're stunned. Every time. ā€œYou made this?ā€ they ask, eyes wide, mouths full.
Yes, the fathers did.
But the food is just the start.

Later, every boy steps aside with their father or father figure for 45 uninterrupted minutes. Just the two of them. No facilitators. No schedule. No phones. No distractions. Just space - space to talk, to listen, to guide.
It’s during these moments that a father speaks into the life of his son.
He names the strengths he sees.
He affirms the growth underway.
He challenges him to step forward into manhood - not all at once, but step by step, with courage and conviction.
And then comes the final act of the day: the blessing ceremony.
Each boy is called forward, one by one.
Symbolic gifts are given.
Hands are laid.
Prayers are spoken.
It’s always a moving experience.
And somewhere inside, the boys know:
That the circle of life will one day place the burden of manhood on their shoulders,
and they must carry that weight honourably, just like their fathers have.

This is not a small day. It is one of the most powerful moments in the Jasiri journey. And it wouldn’t be possible without the extraordinary men who keep showing up to make it happen.
To the fathers who wake up early, who build fires, who cook feasts, who give affirming words and carry generational wisdom in their voices - we see you. We honour you. And we thank you for teaching your boys, by action and by word, what it truly means to be a man.

šŸŽ’ JASIRI EXPERIENCE FAQ: EVERYTHING YOU’VE BEEN WONDERING, ANSWERED

Every year, before we begin the Jasiri Experience, we receive questions - and rightfully so. As a parent, handing over your son for ten days is a big decision. You want to know what he’ll learn, who’s watching over him, and whether this experience will actually make a difference.
At Nawiri Experiences, we believe in earning your trust. That’s why we’ve put together this clear, honest FAQ to give you the answers you need - and the peace of mind you deserve.

šŸ‘‡šŸ¾ Here’s what parents are asking:

šŸŽÆ WHAT IT IS & WHO IT’S FOR

1. What exactly is the Jasiri Experience?
It’s a 10-day, Christian-based rites of passage program designed to guide boys (ages 13–16) into manhood. It’s reflective, challenging, safe, and deeply transformative.
2. Is this only for boys who are ā€œtroubledā€ or struggling?
Not at all. Jasiri is for any boy transitioning into adulthood. Whether he’s thriving or unsure of himself, the program offers tools that every young man needs.
3. My son is introverted - will he fit in?
Absolutely. Our facilitators are trained to support all personality types. In fact, some of our most powerful stories have come from boys who started off as quiet.

šŸ›” SAFETY & TRUST

4. Are phones allowed at camp?
No. We believe that real growth requires real presence. However, we post regular updates and photos daily in a dedicated parent WhatsApp group - you’ll always know what’s happening.
5. What happens in case of an emergency?
We’ve got it covered. We have trained medical staff sleeping over at camp during the first critical days. Our facilitators are also certified in medical first aid and are trained on how to best support the boys in our care
6. Will my son be ā€œbrainwashedā€ or taught strange things?
Never. Our curriculum is grounded in Biblical values and practical life skills. We’re also transparent - parents know exactly what we teach and are always welcome to ask questions.

šŸ“˜ CURRICULUM & CONTENT

7. What do the boys actually learn?
A lot. The Jasiri curriculum covers identity, integrity, digital purity, time management, emotional intelligence, and more - all woven together with faith and real-life mentorship.
8. Is the curriculum reviewed?
Yes - every year. We improve it based on feedback, research, and lived experience. Our goal is to offer the most relevant and life-giving content for today’s teen boys.
9. Are there workbooks or take-home materials?
Yes! Every boy will receive a Jasiri workbook to help him reflect, internalize, and carry the lessons forward even after camp ends.

šŸ¤ PARENT INVOLVEMENT

10. Can I meet the facilitators before camp?
Yes. We offer discovery calls and even host pre-camp info sessions where you can ask anything - we want you to feel as confident as your son.
11. Will I get updates during camp?
Yes. You’ll receive daily photos and check-ins through the parent WhatsApp group - it’s the next best thing to being there in person.
12. Can I speak to past parents before registering?
Absolutely. We’re happy to connect you with alumni parents so you can hear their honest thoughts before you decide.

🧭 LOGISTICS, PREP & WHAT TO EXPECT

13. How long is the program?
10 days, immersive and deeply intentional.
14. Is the hike mandatory?
Yes - but it’s not a test of athleticism. There are no extreme physical requirements. The hike is symbolic, scenic, and facilitated with support every step of the way.
15. What if my son gets homesick?
That’s natural - and it’s something we’re ready for. Our team knows how to walk boys through emotional moments and help them grow stronger from the experience.
16. How are the boys grouped?
There is one unified group. This helps us build a strong sense of brotherhood, support, and shared learning.
17. Is there a graduation or commissioning ceremony?
Yes - and it’s powerful. Parents are invited, and many say it’s one of the most moving moments they’ve ever witnessed.
18. What happens after Jasiri?
We don’t just say goodbye. There are alumni programs, father-son initiatives, and continued mentorship opportunities to keep the fire burning.

šŸ“¢ ONE LAST THING:

This program changes lives - and we want you to be 100% sure before taking the step. That’s why we’ll always answer your questions, connect you with past parents, and show you exactly what we’re about.
Raising boys today isn’t easy. But you don’t have to do it alone.

šŸ‘‰šŸ¾ DM us, call us, or visit our site to learn more.
We’re here - and we’re ready to walk this journey with you.

✨ Real Stories. Real Transformation. ✨

Every family that walks through our doors brings a different story. Some come hopeful, others worried. All of them however, are searching - not just for a program, but for a transformative one. One that pushes boys to become young men who are strong in character, rooted in faith, and ready for life.
When they find Jasiri, they breathe a little easier.
Here are three stories from families who entrusted us with their sons and witnessed transformation.

šŸ’¬ ā€œThis was an answered prayer.ā€ - A Single Mum’s Story

She was doing it all on her own. Raising a teenage boy without a specific roadmap, just a deep desire to see him grow into a good man. She’d looked around, unsure of who to trust until a friend recommended The Jasiri Experience.
After our discovery call, her voice cracked.
"This is exactly what I’ve been praying for."
She sent her son to camp. And when he came back, she shed tears of joy. He was anchored. Focused. Kind. Responsible and more patient with his siblings. She saw in him the kind of man she hoped he’d become.
ā€œThe program delivered on its promise and it has made me confident that the future is bright for my son.ā€

šŸ’¬ ā€œI’ve found a program that exceeded my expectations.ā€ - A Father’s Legacy

He grew up without guidance. So when his own son reached adolescence, he was determined to be intentional. He didn’t want any guesswork. He wanted a process that would shape his son for life.
From day one, he asked all the right questions. Challenged us and held us to the highest standard. To no one’s surprise, he was chosen to chair ther Father’s Committee and he embraced the role fully.
When the program ended, he pulled us aside with a smile.
ā€œI’m glad that I’ve discovered a program that exceeded my expectations. I have two other sons and a daughter, and you can rest assured that they will all go through all of the Nawiri Experiences.ā€
That’s the kind of trust we’re here to earn.

šŸ’¬ ā€œIt’s like he’s a completely different person.ā€ - A Family That Stepped In

They were an aunt and uncle doing their best. Their nephew had been through some serious rough patches and was carrying more than a boy his age should. They enrolled him in The Jasiri Experience hoping for direction, for confidence, for healing.
When we met him, he was quiet. Guarded.
But step by step, session by session, day by day - something started to shift.
At the end of the program, his uncle said to us quietly,
ā€œMy God, it’s like a completely different person. I’m so happy he’s more confident and is talking to the other young men. The foundation has clearly been set and I’m so grateful that when we go home, navigating the continued conversation on life and manhood will be easy.ā€
We don’t promise miracles.
But we do promise a process that works hard to deliver on its promise

šŸ’¬ Speak to a Parent. See for Yourself.
At Nawiri Experiences, we believe the best proof of impact is in the lives of those who’ve gone through our programs. So if you’re considering Jasiri for your son, nephew, or younger brother and have doubts, we’ll gladly connect you with parents from previous years. One. Two. Even five. Ask what you want. Hear their truth.
We’re confident in the experience because we’ve seen it change lives, again and again.
We exist to build honourable men. And every time a boy walks into camp and walks out changed, we’re reminded why we do what we do.
