🍽️ Serving More Than Meals—Empowering Lives Through Opportunity

These moments represent more than a successful catering event—they reflect the impact of Joyful Hope Resource Platform Center (JHRPC) and our commitment to creating sustainable livelihoods for refugees, asylum seekers, and vulnerable communities.

We were privileged to provide catering services during the Safe Place International Graduation Ceremony, where our catering team showcased exceptional hospitality, professionalism, and culinary excellence.

At JHRPC, our catering initiative is not just a business—it is a social enterprise that equips individuals with practical skills, creates dignified employment opportunities, and promotes economic independence. Every meal prepared and every event served contributes to building confidence, developing talent, and transforming lives.

From beautifully presented buffet stations to professionally prepared meals and fresh fruit displays, our team demonstrated what empowerment looks like when opportunity meets determination.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Safe Place International for entrusting us with this memorable occasion and for supporting community-led initiatives that create lasting impact.

When you choose JHRPC Catering, you’re doing more than hiring a catering team—you are investing in hope, skills, resilience, and brighter futures.

📞 Planning a graduation, conference, wedding, corporate function, or private celebration? Let JHRPC Catering deliver a memorable culinary experience while supporting a mission that changes lives.

Together, we are serving hope, creating opportunities, and building stronger communities—one event at a time.

A Heartfelt Farewell, and a Hopeful New Beginning 🇨🇦🤝🏳️‍🌈

Today, we had the privilege of sharing a final meeting with some of the incredible team members from the High Commission of Canada to Kenya as they prepare for their new assignments in other countries.

As we say goodbye, we also warmly welcome the new team joining the High Commission. We are encouraged by the opportunity to continue building on the strong relationship we have established together. We look forward to advancing our shared vision of inclusion, protection, and human rights for those we serve.

On behalf of everyone at Joyful Hope Resource Platform Center (JHRPC), thank you to the outgoing team for your dedication and friendship. We wish you every success in your new postings, and we are excited to begin this new chapter with the incoming team.

🌍 World Refugee Day 2026 | Refugee Connect Gala & The Speak Out Project Launch

Today, Joyful Hope Resource Platform Centre (JHRPC) was honored to participate in the Refugee Connect Gala as we commemorated World Refugee Day 2026 and witnessed the second launch of The Speak Out Project.

The event brought together refugees, asylum seekers, community leaders, partners, and allies to celebrate the strength, resilience, and voices of displaced communities. It served as a powerful reminder that every refugee deserves safety, dignity, inclusion, and the opportunity to thrive.

At JHRPC, we remain committed to advocating for the rights, protection, and well-being of LGBTQI+ refugees and asylum seekers while strengthening partnerships that create lasting impact.

We extend our sincere appreciation to KNESWO for organizing this meaningful event and to all partners who continue to stand in solidarity with refugee communities.

🌍 World Refugee Day 2026 | Canadian High Commission, Kenya 🇨🇦🇰🇪

Honoured to join fellow refugee leaders, advocates, partners, and allies at the Canadian High Commission in Kenya to commemorate World Refugee Day 2026.

Today was a powerful reminder that refugees are not defined by displacement but by resilience, courage, hope, and the determination to rebuild their lives with dignity. It was inspiring to stand alongside organizations and individuals committed to advancing protection, inclusion, and human rights for all refugees, including LGBTQI+ refugees.

As the Executive Director of Joyful Hope Resource Platform Center (JHRPC), I remain committed to advocating for safe spaces, equal opportunities, and lasting solutions that empower refugees to thrive.

A heartfelt thank you to the Canadian High Commission, ORAM, and all partners for creating a platform that celebrates diversity, solidarity, and the strength of refugee communities.

Happy World Refugee Day!
“Solidarity with Refugees means standing together, listening to their voices, and ensuring no one is left behind.” 🕊️🌈

16/06/2026

On June Friday 12th 2026 at exactly 10:44 our Shelter experienced a deeply disturbing security incident.

An unidentified individual was captured on CCTV outside our premises making threatening gestures before unlawfully entering the compound through a blind spot in our security coverage. The person left behind a handwritten note containing hateful and targeted threats directed at refugees and individuals perceived to be LGBTQ+.

The message stated that they knew “the foreigners who are q***r people living here” and warned that they would “come for them one day.”

This was not a random act. It was an act of intimidation intended to instill fear in an already vulnerable community seeking safety, dignity, and protection.

At Joyful Hope Resource Platform Center (JHRPC), we strongly condemn all forms of hate, discrimination, and violence against refugees, asylum seekers, and LGBTQ+ persons. Everyone deserves to live free from fear and persecution.

We call upon relevant authorities, humanitarian partners, human rights defenders, and allies to take these threats seriously and stand in solidarity with communities at risk. Silence in the face of intimidation only emboldens those who seek to spread hatred.

To our community members: your safety matters, your lives matter, and you are not alone. We remain committed to protecting human dignity, advocating for justice, and creating safer spaces for those most at risk.

🌟 JHRPC Delicacies at the Cross-Learning & Business Strengthening Workshop 🌟

Over the past two days, JHRPC Delicacies had the privilege of participating in the Cross-Learning and Business Strengthening Workshop organized by ORAM, in partnership with Nadharia and HIAS Kenya, at Ibis Styles, Nairobi.

The workshop brought together LGBTIQ refugee, asylum seeker, and Kenyan host community entrepreneurs to learn from one another, build meaningful connections, and explore opportunities for collaboration and growth.

Through interactive discussions, peer learning, networking sessions, and action planning, we reflected on the realities of running businesses as marginalized entrepreneurs and gained practical insights on strengthening our enterprise for sustainability.

As JHRPC Delicacies, we are inspired to continue building a resilient social enterprise that creates economic opportunities and dignity for q***r refugees and asylum seekers. We are grateful for the safe spaces that foster learning, mentorship, and collective growth.

A heartfelt thank you to ORAM,, andHIAS KENYAfor investing in the growth of our businesses and strengthening the ecosystem of LGBTIQ entrepreneurs.

✨ Together, we rise by supporting and learning from one another.
