🎨 World Youth Skills Day 2026 | Skills for a Shared Future

Skills unlock opportunities, nurture creativity and enable young people to build dignified and sustainable livelihoods.
Through the Creative Industry Skills Programme, funded by the Ulkoministeriö - utrikesministeriet and UNICEF Kenya Finn Church Aid Kenya equips underserved youth in urban communities and refugee settings with practical, market-responsive creative, digital, entrepreneurial, and life skills.
These skills help young people transform their talents into pathways to employment, self-employment, and enterprise development, while contributing to the growth of the creative economy.
FCA Kenya’s wider creative economy programming also includes the Women in Creative Economy Programme, funded by Naisten Pankki, which strengthens the skills and business management capacities of women entrepreneurs. The programme supports women to manage profitable and sustainable enterprises, access market opportunities and strengthen their economic resilience.
On this World Youth Skills Day, we celebrate the creativity, resilience and determination of young people using their skills to shape a more inclusive and shared future.
When skills meet opportunity, talent becomes a pathway to sustainable livelihoods .

🌱 Harvesting Change Through Climate-Smart Agriculture

Just months after planting their first crops, 99 women farmers supported through the Women Empowerment in Kenya through Controlled Environment Agriculture (WEKCEA) project are already seeing the rewards of climate-smart agriculture.

Following training, mentorship, and the establishment of greenhouses, shade nets, and drip irrigation systems, the first three women's groups in Kerio Valley and Kajiado County have generated KES 158,000 in income to date from tomatoes and coloured bell peppers, with more harvests and even greater returns expected in the coming months.

These encouraging early results demonstrate how investing in women, innovation, and climate-smart agriculture can strengthen livelihoods, build resilience, and create lasting economic opportunities for communities.

WEKCEA is implemented by Finn Church FCA Finn Church Aid with funding from Naisten Pankki, empowering women to build sustainable livelihoods and resilient futures.

💻🌍On the International Day of Digital Learning, FCA Kenya is proud to contribute to expanding digital learning opportunities in underserved communities.
In partnership with the Ministry of Education - Kenya, UNICEF Kenya, the ICT Authority, and FCA Kenya is implementing the Last Mile Connectivity to Schools Project, targeting to connect 244 primary schools in Samburu, Marsabit, Tana River, West Pokot, and Kakuma. The initiative is expected to benefit more than 89,000 learners while strengthening teachers’ capacity to integrate digital tools into everyday learning, making education more inclusive, engaging, and future-ready.

Because every learner deserves the chance to learn, grow, and succeed in a connected world.
