Every 10 Minutes, a Woman Loses Her Life to Violence. This Must End.

Violence against women and girls is one of the most widespread and devastating human rights violations globally. In Kenya and beyond, nearly one in three women will experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime—a staggering reality we cannot ignore.

In 2023 alone, over 51,100 women were murdered by partners or family members worldwide. That’s one woman every 10 minutes. This crisis is compounded by conflicts, climate change, and even digital spaces, further endangering women everywhere.

At WAYAAP, we believe that ending gender-based violence starts with holding perpetrators accountable and strengthening responses at every level. It means investing in national strategies, empowering women’s rights organizations, and fostering communities where women and girls are safe and valued.

Together, we can break the cycle of violence. Join us in the fight for safety, equality, and justice for all.

100 Lives Too Many – Stand Against Femicide ❌❌❌

Women and girls in Kenya live with the daily reality of violence, a crisis that demands urgent action. At WAYAAP, we stand with every woman and girl in the fight for safety, justice, and dignity. Building safe communities starts with empowering ourselves and each other. It means being aware of our surroundings, learning self-defense, connecting with resources, and creating networks of support.

But individual action alone cannot end femicide. We call upon our leaders to enforce stronger laws and hold perpetrators accountable. Let’s amplify our voices and push for a society where safety isn’t a privilege but a right for all.

Together, we can end this. Support, speak up, and demand change.
