This week, we’re reflecting on wellbeing and the lasting impact of this work.
Our sessions created space for girls to talk about stress, emotions, and the challenges they face, while also learning practical coping strategies like deep breathing, grounding, journaling, and seeking support.
But the impact didn’t stop there. Teachers observed increased openness, stronger peer support, and reduced stigma, showing how this work extends beyond the sessions and into everyday life.
When girls are supported, the impact doesn’t stay with one individual; it spreads across classrooms, friendships, and communities.
And this impact deserves to continue.
Help us keep this work going, partner with us and be part of the change.

This week, we’re reflecting on confidence and voice. Through activities like Dream Walls, Strength Trees, and affirmation circles, girls explored who they are, what they’re capable of, and what they dream for themselves.
We saw girls who were initially quiet begin to speak up, participate more, and express themselves with growing confidence.
These are the moments that matter, when a girl begins to believe in herself.
Because confidence is not just about speaking louder, it’s about knowing your worth, owning your voice, and believing you deserve to be heard. And every girl deserves that opportunity.
Invest in her voice. Partner with us and support girls’ mentorship.

This week, we’re reflecting on the power of knowledge and dignity.
For many girls, conversations around puberty, menstruation, and their bodies are often surrounded by silence or misinformation. Through our sessions, girls were able to learn openly, ask questions, and understand their bodies without fear or shame.

We saw girls grow in confidence in managing their menstrual health and begin to challenge harmful myths and stigma.
Because when girls have access to accurate information, they are better equipped to navigate adolescence with confidence, dignity, and self-respect.

And no girl should be left behind because of lack of information.
Support this work and help us ensure more girls have access to the knowledge they deserve.

Last year we carried out a Mentorship Program in Kibra, Huruma and Mathare. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be reflecting on this program implemented in Q3 and Q4 of 2025: what it made possible and what it means for the girls we worked with.

Through Her Voice Matters Foundation KE, we reached 316 girls through mentorship sessions and a Girls’ Conference focused on confidence, wellbeing and knowledge. But beyond the numbers, this work was about creating safe spaces, spaces where girls could ask questions, speak freely, and feel seen and supported. Because when girls are given the right environment, they don’t just participate, they grow.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more on Access to SRHR knowledge, Building confidence and voice, Supporting girls’ mental wellbeing and the Lasting Impact of this work

And there are still many more girls who need access to these spaces. Partner with us, support this work and help us reach the next girl!

We were honored to be part of the 3rd Lightup Impact Days 2025, a powerful youth-led gathering championing gender and climate justice across East Africa.
Over two inspiring days, we joined grassroots leaders, activists, and policymakers to explore how young people are reimagining the future through collaboration, creativity and courage.
From intergenerational dialogues on equity and inclusion to action labs on decolonizing aid and transforming philanthropy, every session reminded us that youth are not the leaders of tomorrow but changemakers of today.

Key takeaways for us:
- True justice means shifting power & resources to grassroots communities.
- Trust-based partnerships & inclusive policymaking are vital for sustainable impact.
- Creativity & collective action drive resilience in the face of climate and gender inequality.

We left inspired by the call to “Let Youth Lead” and more committed than ever to amplifying the voices of young women and gender-diverse leaders shaping a just, equitable future.

Today, on this International Day of the Girl 2025, we celebrate the brilliance, courage and potential of every girl who dares to dream and lead!

At Her Voice Matters Foundation KE, we marked this special day at Savior King Education Centre in Kibra through an interactive mentorship session that empowered girls to understand their bodies, build confidence and manage stress reminding each of them that their voice, story and power matter.

We were honored to host the Stichting Dioraphte team through She's the First, whose support continues to help us reach more girls in informal settlements with safe spaces to learn, lead and thrive.

Here’s to the girl who dreams, the girl who leads, and the girl who becomes the change she wants to see.
