Proudly in My Skin. Celebrating All Skin Tones.

In Kenya, persons with albinism continue to contribute to every aspect of society as professionals, entrepreneurs and community leaders. Yet many still face discrimination, stigma and barriers to accessing services and opportunities.

This International Albinism Awareness Day, the focus remains on ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, employment and participation in public life.

The theme, "Proudly in My Skin: Celebrating All Skin Tones", is a reminder that inclusion starts with recognising the rights and contributions of every person, regardless of skin colour or appearance.

Putting food on the table is becoming harder for many families in Kenya and around the world.

New analysis shows that growing numbers of people are struggling to meet their basic food needs, with some communities facing acute hunger.

Access to food is essential for health, learning and livelihoods. Globally, up to 45 million people are at risk of acute hunger.

Continued support is needed to help vulnerable communities meet their immediate needs and cope with rising pressures.

For Kenya, the ocean is more than a coastline. It supports fishing communities, powers tourism, protects biodiversity and contributes to livelihoods for millions of people.

Yet the health of our ocean is under growing pressure from plastic pollution, unsustainable use of marine resources and the impacts of climate change.

As United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres says:

"We cannot keep treating the ocean as limitless. We must build a new relationship with it."

This World Oceans Day, we are reminded that protecting our ocean is a shared responsibility.
From conserving mangroves and coral reefs to reducing plastic waste and supporting sustainable blue economy initiatives, every action matters.

A healthy ocean is essential for Kenya’s people, economy and future generations.

Behind every decimal point of global warming are real communities facing severe droughts, rising sea levels and unpredictable weather patterns that threaten their lives and livelihoods.

Every fraction of a degree brings greater harm…especially to the most vulnerable.” UN Secretary General, António Guterres.

This World Environment Day, we cannot afford to wait.

It is time to ACT .

Let’s demand systemic change, support sustainable solutions and protect our shared home before the next fraction of a degree is locked in.💚
