PUTTING FARMERS AT THE CENTER OF CLIMATE ACTION 🌱

At Adopt A Generation Africa (AGA), in collaboration with the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT-CGIAR), we believe the best agricultural solutions are designed with farmers, not just for them.

This season, farmers are taking the lead through maize on-farm trials, testing climate-smart practices in their own fields, sharing valuable feedback, and identifying what works best for their soils, climate, and livelihoods.

By placing farmers at the heart of innovation, we're creating solutions that are practical, locally relevant, and more likely to be adopted. The result? Improved productivity, stronger resilience, and technologies that build on local knowledge and experience.

Today, our data assistants from Western Kenya region successfully participated in a capacity-building training organized by the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT and International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT).

The training equipped the team with practical skills in digital innovations for agricultural research data collection, research ethics and compliance, and best practices for conducting on-farm trials and effective community engagement.

At Adopt A Generation Africa, we believe that investing in the skills and professionalism of our field teams strengthens the quality, integrity, and impact of agricultural research. We appreciate the continued partnership, financial and technical support from the Alliance of Bioversity International & CIAT and CIMMYT in advancing evidence-based solutions that improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Kenya and beyond.

Together, we are building stronger research systems and driving sustainable agricultural transformation across Kenya.

SHOFCO is currently running a successful business loans program benefiting thousands of youth businesses across the country. Adopt A Generation Africa was earlier today represented by our Chief Executive Officer Mr. Cornelius Omuse at the Kenya Climate Civil Society Organizations Network Annual General Meeting in Nairobi Kenya.

During the meeting, the social audits reports on the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action Program, Kenya projects which were conducted in eight counties was presented. Members had the opportunity to air their views on the report and recommended amendments to the report and way forward.

The meeting brought together FLLoCA focal points, National Organizations, The National Treasury, and the World Bank.

As a national organization implementing climate resilience programs across Kenya, Adopt A Generation Africa presented its' current programs and the proposed projects which will be carried out in collaboration with the Focal points, state agencies and development partners.

Adopt A Generation Africa attended and participated in a three day workshop in Nairobi Kenya convened by The Ministry of Health, with support from UNICEF. The workshop brought together Technical Working Group members for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene ( WASH) under the Ministry of Health to review a costed national roadmap for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Health Care Facilities (HCFs) in Kenya.

The roadmap aims to provide a strategic framework for improving WASH services in healthcare facilities and accelerating progress towards universal access to safe and resilient WASH services in health settings.

Adopt A Generation Africa continues to support the Government of Kenya, development partners and Public Benefits Organizations in developing policies and strategies that are geared to transforming the socio-economic spheres of communities across Kenya.

CURTAINS FALLS ON AGA UKULIMA EXPO ( Trans Nzoia County)

Adopt A Generation Africa and partners today held intense consultative and training sessions with farmers drawn across Trans Nzoia County during the second and the last day of the inaugural AGA Ukulima Expo held at Manor House Agricultural Centre in Saboti Sub County.

The two day event provided a platform for regulators and businesses to exhibit and conduct awareness and training sessions on sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, access to credit, animal disease prevention and commercialization of agricultural produce.

Farmers and exhibitors commended the leadership of Adopt A Generation Africa for spearheading the Expo which brings together key stakeholders in the agricultural industry across Kenya to discuss on strategies that can enhance agriculture transformation, food security and job creation.

Adopt A Generation Africa continues to uphold its' mandate of supporting locally Led solutions anchored on local realities to in addressing socio economic challenges facing communities across Kenya.
