True leadership in Toastmasters is never a solitary journey; it is built on the strong connections we forge within and across our clubs. At our recent Club Officer Training (COT) at Strathmore University, leaders from across the region gathered to align their goals and elevate their skills. As we reflected on the day's discussions, three powerful lessons stood out that will shape our path forward this year.
First, success is built on relationships. We learned that the heartbeat of a thriving club isnโt administrative metrics, but the deep, supportive bonds among its members. This relational foundation starts at the very top with our visionary Division C leadership team.
Under the guidance of Division Director Dan Odero, alongside Assistant Division Director of Program Quality Eng. Betty Gikonyo, Assistant Division Director of Club Growth Samson Mac'Oduol, and Administration Manager June Keriri, we have cultivated an environment where collaboration thrives. Their shared commitment ensures that every club feels heard, supported, and fully equipped to succeed.
Second, people are the power behind every goal.
A strategic plan is only as strong as the hands that implement it and the hearts that believe in it. By exploring how to build healthy teams and navigate "Building Quality Clubs" with facilitators like Josephine Osumo and Program Quality Director (PQD) Njeri Gathii, officer cohorts learned how to cultivate environments where every single member feels valued and inspired to grow.
We want to shine a massive spotlight on our phenomenal Area Directors who went above and beyond to make this training a reality: Leila Abdi (Area 12), Esmie Manda (Area 13), Martha Atudo (Area 14), Collins Njoga (Area 15), and Dr. Angeline Tenge (Area 16). Through their tireless support and guidance, these leaders proved that when we invest in our people, we unlock limitless potential.
Third, service is the truest form of leadership.
To wear a Toastmasters officer pin is not to claim a title of authority; it is to accept a mantle of stewardship. Every hour volunteered and every word of encouragement spoken is an act of service that echoes far beyond a single club meeting. Equipped with fresh tools, backed by lifelong friends, and inspired by a collective vision, our Division C leaders are officially ready to step forward and make a lasting impact.
The journey of growth never stops.
Saturday, 18th July, the spotlight shifted to Eldoret, where Area 16 hosted our officer training. Led by Dr. Angeline Tenge, we brought that same vibrant, infectious energy, dedication, and passion to our members in Eldoret as we continue connecting, learning, and impacting lives together!
