The speakers we have lined up provide a combination of policy and public health perspectives, lived experience, research-based insights, and on-ground expertise on the topic at hand, which will make for an engaging, informative discussion.

Our speakers are:
- Veronica Ngatia, our keynote speaker, who is the Director of Care at Shamiri, and has 9+ years of experience spanning therapy, supervision, and program leadership
- Stella Waruinge, head of the County Mental Health Department
- Dr Priscilla Makau, a psychiatrist working in the Mental Health division of the of Health (MOH)
- Maureen Gikonyo, a mental health advocate and the Global Youth Systems Engagement Lead at citiesRISE

For thousands of years, humanity has occupied two spaces. The first was physical. Connection
meant proximity, village, family, tribe. Knowledge lived in bodies and oral tradition. Healing meant the
presence of another person.

The second was digital. Connection became scalable but thinner. Knowledge became abundant but
noisy. We gained reach and lost depth. Now a third space is opening.

We are inviting young people aged 18 to 35 based in Kenya and across Africa to be part of the
exhibition at The Gathering 2026.
