The event brought together poultry farmers, corporations, NGOs, parastatals, animal feed companies, and government staff to address key issues affecting the chicken value chain and highlight the importance of sustainable poultry production and chicken welfare.

While cities deal with fuel shortages, long queues and rising transport costs, much of rural Kenya is quietly reminded of something important; not all transport runs on petrol or diesel.

In many ASAL and rural regions, donkeys, oxen and camels are still the backbone of daily business. When fuel becomes expensive or scarce, the value of working animals suddenly becomes very visible again because they are resilient.

Would you ride a camel to work?🙃

Utunzi Africa Attends Kenya Retailers Summit

As Utunzi Africa we are deeply committed to working with companies to shift their poultry supply chain systems towards sustainable sourcing ( cage free)

As we work towards this, we are pleased to attend the Kenya retailers summit as a platform to interact with and engage different companies as we aim to promote sustainable sourcing of eggs and egg products.

We believe that companies have an integral role to play in promoting animal welfare.

Stay tuned.

We kicked off another CASHA (Creating Shared Value in the Livestock Sector) CBF training at AIC Cheptebo Rural Development Center, bringing together facilitators committed to driving change in their communities. Now on Day 2 of a six-day journey, the focus is already shifting from learning concepts to applying practical skills, strengthening capacity, sharpening mindsets and exploring real opportunities within agrifood and red meat livestock value chain.

The energy, collaboration and shared purpose in the room say it all. This is more than a training, it’s about equipping local champions to create lasting impact.
