These are the quiet milestones behind 49 businesses built by graduates in fashion design, baking, graphic design, interior design, and cosmetology.
Their journey did not end with graduation. Equipped with start-up kits, mentorship, and business support from Edukans Kenya, they transformed practical skills into thriving enterprises that are generating income, serving communities, and creating lasting opportunity.
The true impact of skills development is rarely measured on the day certificates are awarded. It is measured months later—in businesses that are still growing, customers who keep returning, and young entrepreneurs building livelihoods through their craft.

As we come to the end of Men’s Mental Health Month, Edukans Kenya continues to champion conversations and actions that promote wellbeing, resilience, and supportive communities.
At Edukans, we believe mental health is closely connected to the environments where people learn, grow, and interact. Through our work in Samburu, we support the wellbeing of teachers and pupils by strengthening their ability to cope with conflicts and challenging circumstances across 27 primary schools.
By promoting psychosocial wellbeing, resilience, and safe learning spaces, we help create environments where learners and teachers feel supported, valued, and able to thrive.
Our interventions also focus on creating friendly learning environments through water harvesting solutions in schools, improving access to quality education, and addressing factors that affect learners’ confidence, participation, and overall wellbeing.
Because mental health is not only about addressing challenges — it is also about building communities where everyone has the opportunity to flourish.
Let us continue to break the silence, challenge stigma, and encourage conversations around mental wellbeing.

Building the capacity of teachers to shape values-driven learners! 📚✨

Teachers are currently taking part in a 3-day training on mainstreaming life skills and values into curricular and co-curricular activities under the ALiVE Programme. Through the training, educators are strengthening their ability to intentionally integrate values and life skills into everyday learning experiences, helping learners develop the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours needed to thrive in school and beyond.

Together, we are creating learning environments where values are lived, practiced, and nurtured every day.
