Mama Sandra has dedicated her whole life to taking care of her daughter Sandra who is now 30 years old and was diagnosed with Cerebral palsy at birth.

Her story is a true reflection of how much caregivers have to sacrifice to ensure those they care for are ok amidst challenges like neglect, stigamatisation , stretched financially and mentally , lack of support e.t.c

Meet Mama Sandra

For 30 years, Mama Sandra has shown us what true love looks like. Having given birth to Sandra at a young age , it wasn't easy for her to accept the condition of her child .

While many see the challenges of cerebral palsy, she has always seen her daughter Sandra’s strength, beauty, and worth. Through sleepless nights, hospital visits, therapy sessions, hard days and hopeful ones, she has remained constant. She has chosen patience when it was hard, faith when it was heavy, and love every single day.

Thirty years of sacrifice.
Thirty years of resilience.
Thirty years of unwavering devotion.

Mama Sandra, you are more than a caregiver — you are a warrior, a teacher, and a living example of unconditional love. Your strength inspires us. Your commitment humbles us. Your love speaks volumes .

This was our highlight for the year 2024 . Together with other partners we brought together more than 200 caregivers of Persons with Cerebral Palsy in Kakamega county .

We believe in empowering caregivers of persons with disabilities and through the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) , the caregivers were informed of how they can benefit from different programs. The children went through Assessment process and therapy sessions.

The Healthcare Hospital Kakamega Branch conducted check ups on the caregivers as well as taking them through a mental wellness session.

The caregivers received diapers and some received wheelchairs.

Our main goal for the year 2025 is to reach a wider number of caregivers by conducting trainings in different counties, majorly focusing on ways of caregivers becoming independent.
