On Sunday, 12th April 2026, Kenya Youth Association-KYA's National leadership convened a consultative meeting to deliberate on key issues affecting the youth and the strategic direction of the organization.

The meeting was attended by:

KYA Chairman – Mapesa Madollar

KYA C.E.O– CPM Wakili Yogi Ni**od Asiba

KYA Treasurer – C. Wanjiru

KYA Secretary General – Ahmed Mohamed

The leaders engaged in productive discussions centered on matters affecting the youth across the country, the growth and strengthening of the Kenya Youth Association (KYA), and the role of young people in national development.

Key resolutions and deliberations from the meeting include:

Youth Unity :
The leadership emphasized the urgent need for unity among the youth irrespective of political, ethnic, or social backgrounds. KYA reaffirmed its commitment to being a unifying platform that brings together all young people to collectively address their challenges and opportunities.

Voter Registration and Civic Participation :
The Association called upon all eligible youth to register as voters and actively participate in the democratic process. The leadership underscored the power of the youth vote in shaping the future leadership and policies of the country.

Strengthening KYA Structures :
Discussions were held on expanding KYA structures from National Leadership / Secretariat / Regional Chapters / County Chapters to Sub-County & Ward levels to ensure inclusivity, representation, and effective mobilization of youth across all regions.

Youth Empowerment Agenda :
The meeting highlighted the need to intensify efforts in advocating for youth employment, entrepreneurship, education, and access to opportunities.

Future Engagements :
The leadership resolved to roll out a series of youth engagement forums, outreach programs, and partnerships aimed at amplifying the voice of young people in governance and development.

The Kenya Youth Association (KYA) remains steadfast in its mission to champion the interests of the youth and calls upon all young people to join the movement as we work together towards a more inclusive, empowered, and prosperous future.

The Kenya Youth Association (KYA) joins the world in celebrating International Women’s Day and extends our warmest wishes to all ladies within the Association and all women across Kenya.

Today, we recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of women in building families, communities, and our nation. Women continue to play a vital role in leadership, economic development, and social transformation.

KYA reaffirms its commitment to promoting gender equality, empowering young women, and creating opportunities that enable women to thrive and lead in all spheres of society.

As we mark this important day, we encourage young women to continue rising, leading, and shaping the future of our country.

KENYA YOUTH ASSOCIATION (KYA)

The Kenya Youth Association (KYA) wishes to issue a CAUTION! to the public, all members, and youth leaders across the country that any official program, activity, communication, partnership, or meeting relating to KYA shall ONLY! be issued and authorized by the National Leadership Team through official communication channels.

It has come to the attention of the Association that a number of complaints have been lodged concerning certain individuals and/or leaders who are purporting to organize “meetings” in the name of the KYA National Team and asking County, Constituency, and Ward members to send financial contributions to facilitate such alleged meetings. In many instances, these meetings do not exist and are merely schemes designed to fraudulently obtain money from unsuspecting members and the public.

Additionally, KYA has received complaints and Wish to make it absolutely clear that KYA does not operate, authorize, or participate in any Money Lending Business whatsoever. Any such transactions between individuals are purely private arrangements, and the Association is not a party to them.

The Kenya Youth Association strongly condemns these fraudulent acts in the strongest terms possible and warns all individuals engaging in such conduct that the Association will not hesitate to take firm disciplinary and legal action against anyone found misusing the name of KYA for personal gain. KYA remains committed to integrity, transparency, and genuine youth empowerment.

We also wish to inform the youth across the country that KYA will be resuming its active operations next month, April, 2026 and we encourage all young people to join the movement and actively participate in building a strong, credible, and united youth voice in Kenya, ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

KENYA YOUTH ASSOCIATION (KYA) OFFICIAL CONDOLENCE MESSAGE

It is with profound sorrow and deep sadness that the Kenya Youth Association-KYA mourns the untimely passing of Hon. Johanna Ngeno, the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikir Constituency, following a tragic chopper crash.

Hon. Ngeno was a dedicated leader, a servant of the people, and a true patriot who tirelessly championed the interests of his constituents and the nation at large. His commitment to leadership, development, and empowerment of young people will remain a lasting inspiration to the youth of Kenya.
His sudden departure is not only a great loss to the people of Emurua Dikir but also to the entire country, particularly the youth who looked up to his leadership and example.

On behalf of the leadership and members of the Kenya Youth Association (KYA), we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, constituents, colleagues in Parliament, and the people of Kenya during this difficult time. We pray that the Almighty grants his family strength, comfort, and peace, and that his soul rests in eternal peace.
May his legacy of service continue to inspire generations to come.

STATEMENT BY KENYA YOUTH ASSOCIATION (KYA) ON POLICE BRUTALITY AGAINST YOUTH IN NANDI COUNTY

The Kenya Youth Association (KYA) strongly condemns the disturbing and unlawful conduct by police officers from Nandi Hills Police Station who, on the night of 10th January 2026 Violently assaulted young people who were peacefully playing pool.

Let it be stated categorically: playing pool is not a crime. The harassment, assault, and humiliation of young people under the pretext of law enforcement is unacceptable and unconstional and amounts to gross misconduct and abuse of office.

Kenya has painfully witnessed the consequences of unchecked police brutality before. The Gen Z uprisings, triggered by systemic injustice and abuse of power, remain fresh in the nation’s memory. The tragic death of Albert Ojwang, among many other young Kenyans, stands as a grim reminder of what happens when force replaces accountability.

Let this serve as a warning: continued harassment and brutality against youth risks reigniting public outrage and instability that this country can ill afford.

TAKE NOTICE; Should the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), the National Police Service, and all relevant oversight bodies fail to take immediate and decisive action, Kenya Youth Association (KYA) shall institute legal proceedings to:
(1). Compel the arrest and prosecution of the officers involved; (2). Seek their immediate interdiction from service pending investigations; (3). Hold the Inspector General and All responsible command structures accountable; (4). Set a legal precedent that abuse of power will not be tolerated in Kenya.
We will not hesitate to move to Court to ensure justice is served and to protect the dignity and constitutional rights of Kenyan youth.

PRESS STATEMENT CONDEMNING THE KILLING OF AHMED SHEIKH OMAR

The Kenya Youth Association (KYA) Strongly condemns the Killing of Ahmed Sheikh Sheikh Omar and Demands Justice
KYA is deeply saddened and outraged by the tragic death of Ahmed Sheikh Sheikh Omar, a 25-year-old youth, who lost his life on the road between Nunow and Modika in Garissa. The circumstances surrounding his death, reportedly due to a gunshot wound, and the alleged involvement of the RDU, are of grave concern to KYA.

We, the Kenya Youth Association, strongly condemn this act of violence. The loss of a young life is a profound tragedy, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this incredibly difficult time. We stand in solidarity with them and demand justice for Ahmed Sheikh Sheikh Omar.

KYA calls upon the relevant investigative authorities to expedite their investigation into this matter. It is imperative that a thorough and transparent inquiry is conducted to determine the exact cause of death and to bring those responsible to justice. We urge the investigative body to act swiftly and decisively, ensuring that all findings are made public and that those found culpable are held accountable for their actions.

The Kenya Youth Association vows to relentlessly pursue justice for Ahmed Sheikh Sheikh Omar. We will not rest until the truth is revealed, and those responsible are brought to justice. We will employ all available means to ensure that this case is not swept under the rug and that justice prevails. We are committed to advocating for the rights and safety of all Kenyan youth.
