We made an open call for young aspirants from across all 47 counties to register and collectively develop an Accountability Charter ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
We received over 500 applications, from which more than 150 aspirants for positions including Governor, Senate, National Assembly and County Assemblies were shortlisted and hosted in Limuru for the Aspirants Accountability Charter Convention.
Supported by KEPHRA under the EU’s ENoP - WYDE Political Parties Project, the Convention brought together representatives from every county to co-create a shared accountability framework. Through open contributions and honest engagement, it was clear that many young aspirants are seeking a genuine opportunity to change the governance of their counties and the country at large.
The Charter holds all participants to the same accountability standards ahead of the elections, guiding conduct during campaigns and throughout the electoral process. If we are to transform our politics, we must build democratic systems that are inclusive, where accountability still matters and leadership serves the interests of the people.
We are proud to have brought together young aspirants from across the nation. Young people are not waiting to inherit the future. They are shaping it.
