Let Her Rise is an initiative that began in 2019 with the goal of empowering young girls in Kenya by equipping them with knowledge, skills and resources that they need for them to not only complete their education but also to succeed in their desired career fields. Over the years, we have provided financial support, mental health resources, academic support, mentorship, emotional support and other assistance as needed, case by case basis.
Annually we try to make the Holidays special for the girls with small Christmas packages. This year is a milestone because most of our girls have officially sat for their national exams. As part of the celebration, we are planning a small event for them to come together and share a meal. Most importantly, we would like to have some Christmas packages for them to take home to their families. The Christmas packages would include:
Cooking oil, all purpose flour, maize flour, rice, sugar, salt, tea leaves, dairy products milk and/or/meat), bar soaps, bathing soaps, laundry powder, hygiene items such as sanitary towels, tissues, toothpaste, toothbrush, (body lotion/oil)
Other miscellaneous items will also be distributed as needed.
The get together will also include good food and cake for the girls to have.
