Building Confidence Before the Road🏍️🚦

The Boda Empowerment Project is more than just learning how to ride a motorcycle—it is about equipping these young ladies with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to build sustainable livelihoods and transform their futures.

Having successfully completed the financial literacy phase of the program, the young ladies are now advancing to the next critical stage of their journey: road safety and traffic rules training.

The are engaging in practical sessions so as to have a hands-on approach that will allow them to understand traffic signs, road markings, right-of-way rules, roundabout navigation, and safe road usage in a controlled environment before they encounter real-life traffic situations. Through interactive learning, they are developing the confidence to make informed decisions and become responsible road users.

The determination and focus by these young ladies reflect the project's broader vision: empowering vulnerable youth with marketable skills that lead to economic independence and long-term self-reliance. Each lesson learned brings them one step closer to becoming confident, skilled, and professional riders capable of creating better opportunities for themselves and their families.

💖 "Knowledge is Power. Hygiene is Dignity."

A powerful reminder from the students during our Menstrual Hygiene Day celebration at Ushirika School, Kibera.

When girls are given the right information, support, and safe spaces to express themselves, they become confident advocates for their own health, dignity, and future.

At HKSAI, we believe that conversations around menstrual health should be open, informed, and free from stigma. Together, we are raising a generation that understands that periods are natural and that every girl deserves dignity.

Yesterday, HKSAI was joined by students, partners, and community stakeholders at Ushirika School, Kibera to commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026, and what an incredible day it was!🤩

From menstrual hygiene education, mental health awareness, and life skills sessions to dignity kit distribution, the day was filled with learning, empowerment, and inspiration.

A major highlight was hearing from our Chief Guest, Boniface Mwangi, whose powerful message reminded students that their circumstances do not define their future.

✨ "From a Class 8 dropout to a future President of this country."👏

Students showcased their talent through rap, dance, traditional performances, skits and creative expressions that left everyone inspired.
