AFOSI Team joined an inception meeting courtesy of Dedicated Children's Agency in Kibwezi West Sub County, Makueni County, marking an important milestone in the launch of the Climate Resilient Futures for Children, Youth and Communities in Makueni project.

Implemented in partnership with Barnfonden and Sida - Styrelsen för Internationellt Utvecklingssamarbete , the three-year project aims to strengthen systems that respond to the needs of children and youth as they face increasing climate and environmental challenges.

The engagement brought together key stakeholders from the County Government, NGOs, CBOs, academia, technical partners and the media, reflecting a strong multi-sectoral commitment to climate resilience and sustainable development.

Children and youth actively participated in the discussions, sharing their lived experiences and highlighting innovative approaches they are adopting in climate education and community resilience.

We had the privilege of paying a courtesy call to the County Director for Education Nairobi West Region, Mrs. Bridget Wambua to introduce our M.A.T.H Project (Mazingira, Afya, Tumaini na Haki Yetu), funded by Barnfonden.

This pre-visit sets the stage for collaboration as we prepare to implement the project in Kibra and Mukuru, supporting the review, sensitization and rollout of the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Policy, 2017 especially in APBET schools.

Together, we’re working towards inclusive, sustainable education for every learner. 🌱📚
