✨ Volunteer Spotlight: Redefining Youth Engagement in Busia County

What happens when young people are given practical skills, a supportive environment, and the opportunity to lead?

For eight weeks, Purity worked alongside recent KCSE graduates in Busakadi Village, transforming a period often marked by waiting and uncertainty into one of learning, creativity, and action.

Through hands-on training in bead making, detergent production, and samosa preparation, these young people discovered more than just income-generating skills; they discovered their potential. Some participants began selling their products before the training even ended, turning ideas into income and confidence into action.

Their journey is a reminder that youth are not waiting to shape the future; they are already building it.

Swipe through to see how practical skills, entrepreneurship, and community-led development are creating new opportunities in Busia County.

🎉 Celebrating communities turning vision into opportunity!

Communities in Baringo and Tharaka Nithi, working alongside CorpsAfrica Volunteers Risper, Maxwel, and Faith, have launched community-owned events enterprises featuring tents, chairs, and public address systems.

These projects are more than business ventures they are community-led investments designed to generate sustainable income, strengthen local CBOs, and create opportunities for future growth.

As these enterprises begin their journey, communities are already looking ahead with plans to expand their services, increase revenue, and create even more economic opportunities for their members.

Congratulations to the communities for bringing their vision to life, and to Volunteers Risper, Maxwel, and Faith for supporting this journey from idea to reality. We can't wait to see these businesses grow and the impact they will create.

From vision to action.
🐔Jacinta and the Marigat Inn Villages community launched their Broiler Chicken Production Project in Baringo County. This project will create opportunities for income generation for women and youth, improved nutrition, and community-driven growth. Because lasting change starts when communities lead the way.

This project is more than poultry production; it is a testament to what is possible when communities come together to identify challenges and lead their own solutions.

Some Fridays are for slowing down and reflecting on the journey. 📸✨

From training youth on sisal rope making and charcoal briquettes, to supporting women with soap making and baking skills, to helping a young man build confidence through computer skills. Derrick’s service in Nakuru has been rooted in one thing: empowering communities using the strengths they already have.

Through every training, outreach activity, and conversation, he continues to witness the power of community-led change and the impact of walking alongside people as they build sustainable solutions for themselves.

This photo dump captures moments from the journey, the people, the learning, the small wins, and the everyday impact of service. 🤝🌍

From serving as a Volunteer to building opportunities for others, Peter Moenga’s journey is a powerful example of impact beyond service.

Through the Alumni Entrepreneurship Incubator Fund, Peter transformed his vision into reality by starting Rocky Tech Savvy Computer College , a space empowering young people with digital and computer skills for a brighter future.

In this video, Peter shares why he started the business, the gap he wanted to address, and how the initiative is creating opportunities within the community.

Service doesn’t end at the close of Service sometimes; it’s just the beginning. 💡✨

One skill. One follow-up. One decision to try. ✨

As a CorpsAfrica Volunteer, Isaack Nyoike facilitated yogurt-making training sessions with the Imani Women’s Self-Help Group and continued offering follow-up support and encouragement to participants like Fridah.

Today, what started as a simple training has grown into a source of income, confidence, and opportunity for Fridah.
