Sermon On “Israel Deliverance From Egypt And The Canaan Occupation Symbolized Salvation” By Sister Anne On 29th July, 2026
FROM THE BEGINNING, GOD KNEW THAT MAN WOULD FAIL HENCE THE WARNING ON THE TREE AT THE CENTRE OF THE GARDEN OF EDEN AND CONSEQUENCES OF ITS CONSUMPTION
God had warned them that eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would result in death, which is understood as both physical and spiritual separation from God.
In the biblical story of the Garden of Eden, the "forbidden tree" is referred to as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
God placed it in the center of the garden alongside the tree of life.
He forbade Adam and Eve from eating its fruit, warning that doing so would result in death.
Genesis (2:9) describes the tree as being in the middle of the garden, alongside the tree of life.
God explicitly prohibited Adam from eating the fruit of this tree, stating that doing so would lead to death.
In Genesis 3, A SERPENT tempts Eve to eat the fruit, claiming it will make her and Adam like God, knowing good and evil.
Eve eats the fruit, then gives it to Adam, and they both disobey God's command.
THIS ACT LEADS TO THEIR EXPULSION FROM THE GARDEN, THE INTRODUCTION OF SIN AND DEATH INTO THE WORLD, AND A LOSS OF THEIR INNOCENT STATE.
THE TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL IS OFTEN INTERPRETED AS A SYMBOL OF FREE WILL AND THE CHOICE BETWEEN OBEDIENCE AND DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD.
It represents the moment humanity gained self-awareness and moral consciousness, but also the consequences of choosing their own way rather than God's.
This choice of death, is the reason for GOD’S ETERNAL PLAN.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
God's Eternal Plan: The Bible indicates that God's plan for salvation, including the choice of believers in Jesus Christ, was established before the physical creation of the world.
Ephesians 1:4 states that God;
"chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him in love."
Implications of this concept:
God's Sovereignty: It emphasizes God's sovereign choice in salvation, meaning He chooses individuals based on His own will and purpose, not on anything they have done.
God's Love: It highlights God's love for His people, demonstrated by His decision to include them in His eternal plan.
Purpose and Holiness: It signifies that believers are chosen to be holy and blameless, reflecting God's character.
We have various examples in Scripture: Besides Ephesians 1:4, other verses like John 17:24 and 1 Peter 1:20 also refer to this concept of God's actions before creation.
So Jesus Christ took the cross and this was very well symbolized in the deliverance of the Israelites and the occupation of Canaan land
It took 430 years to have the Isrealites released from Egypt!
So, the journey before salvation and the journey to our spiritual inheritance in heaven will take long too
It took so long too to pave way to salvation on the cross through Jesus Christ, since creation!
Nothing comes easy- God works it all according to His perfect timing, His will and riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Your salvation moment was not your own making, it was done according to Gods plans
The meandering within the problems of this world can be equaled to the meandering of the Isrealites in the wilderness.
All the frustrations involved with breaks of Gods assurance that He loves you.
God brings rainfall on all.
Oxygen is free for all, right?
All the tests and allowed temptations are allowed by Jehovah ti strengthen your trust in Him and to understand His importance in your life.
Th second coming of Jesus Christ is like the occupance of Canaan land
Some may never make it to the glamour of the heavenly inheritance just like Moses.
Some others will be picked to complete the missions allocated to others, just like Joshua
Many will choose otherwise just like the golden calf worshipers.
Many will claim that the second coming of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ is not real or has taken too long just like the case when Moses went to receive the commandments!!
Many will drink of the bitter mixture of the ground calf but repentance can reunite them with God.
It is normally a spiritual as will as a physical fight for the freedom in salvation just like they battled for Canaan land.
Until the last inheritors get their share of ticket to enter heaven, the fight shall be by all just like was the case with the Israelites.
Conclusion will struggle up to then second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Then we shall all enter heaven and rest IN THE FULL GRACE and love of God, the Trinity.
The parable of the ten virgins, found in Matthew 25:1-13, tells the story of TEN BRIDESMAIDS WHO WERE WAITING FOR THE BRIDEGROOM TO ARRIVE FOR A WEDDING FEAST.
Five of the virgins were wise and prepared for the bridegroom's arrival by bringing extra oil for their lamps, while the other five were foolish and did not bring extra oil.
When the bridegroom finally arrived, the foolish virgins' lamps had gone out, and they were unable to enter the wedding feast because they had to go buy more oil.
Here's a breakdown of the key elements of the parable:
The Wedding Feast: This represents the kingdom of heaven and the joy of being with God.
The Bridegroom: This represents Jesus Christ, who is coming again.
The Ten Virgins: These represent believers, or those who are invited to the wedding feast.
The Oil: This represents readiness, faith, or the Holy Spirit.
The Wise Virgins: These are those who are prepared for Christ's return by living a faithful life.
The Foolish Virgins: These are those who are not prepared for Christ's return and are caught off guard.
The Main Message:
The parable teaches that believers should always be ready for Christ's return, just as the wise virgins were prepared with extra oil.
IT EMPHASIZES THAT BEING PARTIALLY PREPARED IS NOT ENOUGH; ONE MUST BE TRULY READY AND HAVE FAITH IN CHRIST.
Just relate with all the Israelite events from Egypt to settlement at Canaan land and dive into the journey to our eternal promised land up yonder.
God bless us all.
