Historic milestone for emergency healthcare in Kenya.
President William Ruto has officially launched the SHA National Ambulance Dispatch Center (NADC) at SHA headquarters, Kenya’s first centralised, tech-driven ambulance dispatch and coordination system, and only the second of its kind in Africa.
Kenya Red Cross and , represented by Secretary-General Dr. Ahmed Idris, is proud to be a key partner in this journey.
With support from NCBA, ABSA, KCB and Equity Bank, Kenya Red Cross supported SHA in the design, construction and equipping of the dispatch center.
Kenya Red Cross also led the training of dispatch personnel in emergency response and clinical triage, backed by our over 300,000+ volunteer network nationwide.
Every Kenyan in a medical emergency can now reach the nearest ambulance faster, with the first 24 hours of care covered at no upfront cost, funded through SHA.
