Breathe Cities is entering an exciting new phase, and Breathe Nairobi is proud to be part of this growing global movement for clean air.
Bloomberg Philanthropies has announced a $45 million commitment to expand Breathe Cities, welcoming Addis Ababa and into the network. This brings the initiative to 16 cities across five continents, all working to reduce air pollution, protect public health and support cleaner, healthier communities.
In Nairobi, the launch of 50 city-owned air quality sensors in 2025 marked an important step towards stronger local data, better decision-making and more targeted clean air action.
We celebrate this milestone and reaffirm our commitment to supporting clean air advocacy, public awareness and community participation in Nairobi.
Clean air is a right. Together, we can make it a reality.
