We’re excited to share that Taka Taka Zero has made it to the Top 6 in the Action With Africa Challenge 2025! 🌍

Out of 192 global projects, our work in Mathare, Kenya has been recognised for the impact we continue to make: tackling unmanaged waste, youth unemployment and food insecurity.

📆Next stop: the virtual final on 19th August.

Tomorrow our team will compete in the semi finals of the National Enactus competition having qualified from the regional round. We will compete against 19 other teams from the UK and Ireland for a chance to represent at the Enactus World Cup.

The team will present our project in front of judges and several hundred spectators. We will post updates onto our story throughout the day.

Wishing our team the best of luck for tomorrow. We can’t wait to see what we achieve! 👏🙌

Recently members of our team participated in the East African Plastic conference where they were able to connect with the government and stakeholders involved in plastic recycling and waste management.

Over the 3 days, the Taka Zero team members showcased our project to a wide audience📚📝.

We are incredibly proud of our team members who participated in the event. They are the driving force behind the project and help remove plastic through their efforts ♻️🇰🇪🌎

Yesterday was Mazingira Day, a day that urges Kenyans to take action for the environment. 🇰🇪

We want to use this day to celebrate all the hard work our team do to better the environment. Through waste collection and environmentally safe incineration the team is making Mathare and the world a cleaner and more positive place to live. Everyday they make a difference and we hope they can inspire others around to also address climate issues and accelerate environmental protection. 🌍🌱♻️
