“I am the rivers, the mountains, the roots… and I am still standing.” 🌍

Today, on 🌎 , we remember that the Earth is not just where we live. It is life itself.
It feeds us. It shelters us. It gives us water, air and everything we need to survive.

And still, we take more than we give back.

Forests are disappearing. Rivers are drying. The air is changing.
And the Earth is asking one question: why are you destroying me?

If we don’t stop, we risk losing clean air, food, and our future.
We must use OUR POWER to protect, restore, and respect OUR PLANET. 🌱

Here are few things we were upto in the month of March 🥳

On World Bipolar Day, Mental Voices Africa created a safe space to talk about . Under the theme Still here, Still becoming, we talked about climate anxiety and the growing need for understanding how environmental stress affects mental wellbeing.🧘

Kenya Ni Mimi Campaign also challenged us to think deeper during the AI & Critical Thinking dialogue. The conversation explored how to use AI as a tool, not something that replaces our thinking.

We revamped our urban garden a long overdue project.😂 It’s slowly coming to life, and a reminder that food security can start right where you are. Pass by and see how you can start your own. 🥬

On World Water Day, The Kenya Youth Parliament for water brought together young people and community stakeholders to unpack the link between water and gender.

And lastly we marked the International Day of Action for with The Visionarians , to stand up for the ecosystems that sustain us.

We’ll also explore:
✔️ Stronger regulations and regional harmonisation
✔️ The role of agroecological alternatives
✔️ Pathways toward safer, healthier food systems

✨ The session will also mark the launch of the East Africa Pesticide Network and its call to action for a healthier, more sustainable future.

On 14 March, we marked the International Day of Action for Rivers alongside , , , and other community-based organisations. We stood in solidarity with rivers and the communities that protect and defend them. 🌊✊

By taking action for our rivers, we affirmed that we have the power to protect them and ensure communities have access to clean, free-flowing water and the right to participate in decisions that directly affect rivers and ultimately, their lives.

The day reminded us that without rivers, our health, food security, livelihoods and communities are at risk. We cannot survive or thrive without healthy rivers.

This year’s , we celebrated alongside Women Human Rights Defenders Hub- The Hub under the theme “Give to Gain.”

Over two inspiring days, WHRD Hub shared knowledge and strengthened our capacity to tell our stories, stories of owning their narratives and of resilience. The event empowered Women Environmental Defenders in agroecology, cooperative development, and storytelling, reminding us that when women share knowledge and stand together, we all gain. ✊🏾🌍
