Mass. Procession. A shared table. And a little dancing too.

That's how Nyumbani Children's Home marked Corpus Christi this year. We gathered with visiting Sisters and Fathers for a beautiful Mass, processed around our grounds in Karen, and ended the day with a meal together, complete with songs and dancing from our children and Sisters alike.

Moments like these remind us what community really looks like.

For nearly 30 years, the Sisters of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament have been a constant presence at Nyumbani Children's Home. Since 1996, when Father D'Agostino invited them from India to serve, they have cared for these children as their own. Yesterday, on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, that commitment came full circle. Corpus Christi is not just a feast day on the Church calendar for the SABS Sisters. It is their congregation's identity, built around devotion to the Holy Eucharist. Sister Mercy, Provincial Superior, put it simply: "We become a mother to these motherless children." Yesterday's Eucharistic procession and celebration at Nyumbani was a reminder that some commitments, made quietly in 1996, never waver.

Today, we joined Catholics around the world in celebrating Corpus Christi — the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

At Nyumbani Children's Home, the day was marked with a Mass and a procession around our grounds in Karen, Nairobi. For us, this isn't just a celebration — it's part of our mission to grow the whole child. Spiritual formation is as essential as education, health, and nutrition.

For more than 30 years, Nyumbani Children’s Home has been a place where children can grow, heal, and dream about the future.

Founded in 1992, Nyumbani was created to provide care and support for children affected by HIV. Today, it is home to children who receive not only quality healthcare and education, but also the love, guidance, and opportunities every child deserves.

Beyond the classroom and clinic, our children discover their talents, build confidence, learn practical life skills, and prepare for independent futures. Many have gone on to pursue higher education, careers, and businesses of their own.

Every child who walks through our doors has a story. At Nyumbani, they find a community that helps them write the next chapter.

It was great hosting Amor Sola, President of Amigos de Nyumbani, at Nyumbani Village recently. Her visit was a chance to walk through the projects we run together, see the progress firsthand, and meet the new management team taking things forward. These visits matter, because they keep our partners close to the real work happening on the ground here in Kitui. We're grateful for the continued partnership. 🤝
