🌿 Co-Designing Kenya’s Tree Economy

The morning sessions at the Kenya Corporate Sustainability & Leadership Forum 2026 brought together corporate leaders, sustainability professionals, and technical experts to explore practical pathways for strengthening ESG reporting and advancing Kenya’s Tree Economy.

CPA Patrick Nganga (ICPAK) led discussions on Kenya’s sustainability reporting journey, unpacking the implementation of IFRS S1 & S2 and highlighting the importance of credible, decision-useful disclosures in strengthening corporate accountability. Experts from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) complemented the session by sharing global best practices and practical approaches to embedding sustainability reporting into organizational strategy.

The conversations continued through an engaging panel discussion and interactive Q&A, where participants exchanged ideas, addressed implementation challenges, and explored practical approaches to advancing ESG within their organizations.

Building on these discussions, delegates transitioned into collaborative group discussions, working across sectors to identify priorities, share experiences, and co-develop actionable recommendations that will contribute to Kenya’s measurable, reportable, and verified Tree Economy.

Together, these conversations are laying the foundation for stronger partnerships, informed decision-making, and practical action towards a more sustainable future.

🌿 Session 2 | Unlocking the Tree Economy Through Science, Finance and Partnership

The second session of the Kenya Corporate Sustainability & Leadership Forum 2026 focused on one central question: How can Kenya unlock the full economic value of nature while accelerating landscape restoration?

Bringing together experts from government, academia, finance, and the private sector, the session explored how science-driven data, innovative financing, and cross-sector partnerships can transform restoration efforts into sustainable investments that benefit people, businesses, and the environment.

Speakers emphasized the need to strengthen ESG implementation, improve natural capital accounting, mobilize private sector investment, and develop credible systems for monitoring and measuring restoration outcomes. The discussions also reinforced the shift from traditional Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) towards long-term sustainability strategies that create measurable environmental and economic value.

As Kenya continues advancing its restoration agenda, collaboration remains the foundation for building a resilient, nature-positive future.
