Amplify Hope Africa joined inspiring women leaders and environmental human rights defenders for a grassroots training and dialogue session focused on strengthening community voices in environmental governance and climate action.
The training which was organised by FIDA-Kenya provided us with insights into the Kunming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) and its connection to the Rio Conventions, as well as its significance in protecting nature and promoting sustainable development by 2030.

Moreover, Target 23 highlights the importance of gender equality and inclusivity in biodiversity conservation. This target emphasizes the necessity of engaging women, youth, and Indigenous communities in decision-making processes and ensuring fair access to resources. We acknowledge that addressing gender and social issues is essential for achieving lasting environmental change and empowering communities. Our aim is to connect the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to Gender Equality and climate change, and to comprehend how these matters affect women and men differently.

The session fostered meaningful discussions on leadership, advocacy, and environmental justice, reinforcing the crucial role that women play in driving sustainable change from the grassroots level.
Hellen Tisi, as one of our leading women champions, brings significant value to the organization as we strive to promote impactful change in our communities.

Today, as we celebrate Mashujaa Day, we pay tribute to the courageous men and women whose bravery, sacrifices, and vision have shaped our nation. This year’s observance is tinged with profound sadness as we remember one of Kenya’s most remarkable figures — Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga.

A genuine shujaa, Raila devoted his life to advocating for democracy, justice, and equality for everyone. His steadfast dedication to the principles of freedom and unity continues to motivate generations throughout our country.

As we contemplate his legacy, let us embody the spirit of service, resilience, and patriotism that characterized his life. Together, let us strive to create the Kenya he envisioned — a fair, peaceful, and thriving nation for all.

Rest in peace, Baba. Your legacy will eternally illuminate the narrative of our nation.

🌍 Mazingira Day 2025 — Kibera Edition 🌱

Join us in honouring Mazingira Day — a national holiday focused on environmental conservation, tree planting, and community clean-up initiatives.

This year, Kenya’s theme is “Citizen-Centric Tree Growing and Environmental Stewardship,” urging all of us to take action within our communities.

What to Anticipate!

- Planting of fruit and indigenous trees in public and community areas

- Clean-up efforts: removing trash, debris, and plastics

- Environmental awareness discussions and youth involvement

- Community mobilization: Let’s demonstrate that caring for our environment starts at home

Call to Action

- Bring gloves, shovels, and seedlings (if available)

- Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty

- Invite friends, neighbours, and youth groups

- Spread the word: your participation is crucial

Let’s unite, roll up our sleeves, and transform Kibera into a greener, cleaner, and healthier place. 🌿

Spotlight - Kenya Just Took a Bold Step Towards a Borderless Africa!

Kenya recently scrapped its Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) fee, a move that goes beyond just easing travel. This is a Pan-African statement of unity, reparative justice, and economic vision.

Africans now have a chance to boost tourism and intra-Africa trade to deepening cultural exchange and regional integration, Kenya’s decision echoes the call of the Borderless Africa campaign led by Africans Rising.

Did you know? Despite being Africa’s largest tea producer, most African countries import their tea from China. Why? Because moving goods within Africa is harder than from outside. Removing artificial borders can change this story!

Kenya is showing that another Africa is possible; one where people and goods move freely, unity is real, and prosperity is shared.

On the 20th of September, Amplify Hope Africa participated in the Global Day of Action on Pollution, themed: “Protect People, Not Polluters.” under the umbrella of AACRA Alliance Network.

The community dialogue held in Kibera gathered 50 participants — comprising youth, children, community leaders, and civil society organizations — to discuss the urgent issues surrounding pollution and to develop local solutions.

Key highlights included:
âś… Candid discussions regarding the effects of pollution on health, livelihoods, and the environment.

âś… Creation of a Community Declaration urging local and national governments to hold polluters accountable.

âś… Strong commitments from attendees to promote clean-up efforts, recycling, and awareness campaigns in their communities.

This day served as a significant reminder that pollution transcends environmental concerns; it is fundamentally a matter of justice, health, and dignity. Together, we can forge a future that prioritizes people over polluters.
The focus is now on the 10th of October.

🚨 It’s time to rise up for our planet! 🚨

The Global Days of Action on Pollution are here — and this year’s theme says it all:
🔥 Protect People, Not Polluters! 🔥
As pollution continues to endanger human health, ecosystems, and the global climate, communities worldwide are mobilizing under the banner of the Global Days of Action on Pollution.

This year’s theme, “Protect People, Not Polluters,” calls on governments, industries, and all stakeholders to prioritize human wellbeing over corporate profit. It is a reminder that environmental justice must place communities at the center of decision-making.

From toxic air to plastic-filled oceans, pollution is stealing our future. But change is possible when we raise our voices and demand accountability.

đź’š Put people first.
🌱 Put communities first.
🌍 Put our planet first.

Let’s take action NOW. ✊
