🎉 Grand Launch of the Maternity Unit 🎉

On Saturday, 30th May 2026 marked a remarkable milestone as we celebrated the launch of a new Maternity Unit at Barpello Catholic Dispensary in Baringo County.

This achievement reflects our commitment to improving maternal and newborn healthcare by providing expectant mothers with safe, quality, and compassionate care closer to home.

In attendance were; Rt. Rev. Cleophas Oseso, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru; He emphasized on the importance of marternal health towards societal development and need for regular check ups, CDN Caritas staffs, Government officials led by Dr. Solomon Sirma; CEC Baringo Health department, Stefano Fusi (President of the cooperation) and Niccolò Giordano (manager Acquifera Aps) and SOMIRENEC staffs. The president and Niccolo emphasized on importance of access to clean water and maternal care as they form a focal crucial part of the society.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Acquifera APS, Centro di Salute Globale - Regione Toscana, Azienda USL Toscana Centro, word sisters, Barpello Catholic Dispensary staffs, Baringo County health department and the entire barpello community who contributed to making this achievement possible.

🌴 Holiday vibes + awareness = safer communities 💡

📢 Through our holiday awareness sessions, we continue to support families and children with essential life skills and protection knowledge. Last week's 3-days sessions at Shelter Children's Home ended in style with a sports edition. The children were taught on the importance of words, positive attitude and academic success; themed "My Words, My Power". Guided by James3:5-10, they were encouraged to weigh their words, practice thinking before speaking and understand that words are part of their witness to God.

As they go back to school, they carry along with them confidence, courage and the urge to excel in their academics 🌱✨. At SOMIRENEC, we wish you nothing but success and a fruitful second term in school. Together, we make a difference. 💛
