Supporting Men's Mental Health, Together

A few days ago, Circles of Hope CBO had the privilege of joining Jasiri Empowernest in commemorating Men's Mental Health Month during a meaningful dialogue with young men in Dagoretti South.

We are especially proud of our volunteer team member, Alan Sirima who co-facilitated the session alongside other facilitators. The gathering created a safe and supportive space where young men openly shared their experiences, learned from one another, and engaged in honest conversations about mental health and well-being.

Breaking the silence around mental health begins with creating spaces where people feel heard, understood, and supported. We are encouraged by the willingness of these young men to speak up and remind one another that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

At Circles of Hope, we remain committed to promoting mental health awareness, fostering safe spaces for dialogue, and empowering communities to prioritize emotional well-being for everyone.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Jasiri EmpowerNest, Maggie Kags and team for bringing together young people to champion such an important cause. Together, we can build healthier, more resilient communities.

This week, we celebrate our incredible volunteer, cynthia wambua, as she successfully completes the Empowered Voices: Faith & Feminism curriculum, generously sponsored by Msingi

Over the past 12 weeks, Cynthia explored the intersection of faith and feminism, engaging in powerful conversations about women in the media, gender-based violence, the oppression of women in biblical narratives, and the enduring legacy of courageous women who refused to be silenced, including Wangari Maathai.

For Cynthia, this journey was much more than a course. It offered fresh perspectives, deepened her understanding, and connected her to the inspiring stories of women who paved the way before us.

Cynthia completes the program as an empowered voice, committed to using what she has learned to empower and uplift others in our community.

We are incredibly proud of you, cynthia wambua, and deeply grateful to Msingi Trust for making this transformative opportunity possible.
Together, we continue to nurture voices that inspire hope, justice, and positive change.

Through Civic Voices, we continue to champion meaningful civic engagement among young people and women living in informal communities by creating opportunities for learning, dialogue, and active participation in civic spaces.

As part of this initiative, we have established Civic Hubs; safe and inclusive spaces where youth can come together to openly discuss issues affecting their communities, exchange ideas, learn from one another, and explore how they can actively participate in civic processes and decision-making.

These conversations are helping nurture a generation of active citizens who understand the power of their voices and their role in shaping accountable, inclusive, and responsive communities. By empowering communities with knowledge and safe spaces for engagement, we are strengthening connections, inspiring action, and encouraging collective responsibility for social change.
