We’re proud to celebrate Benjamin Matei Kitonga, a President’s Fellow who’s redefining youth leadership at USIU-Africa!

As Chairperson of the Young Diplomats Forum (YDF), Benjamin has revived the club into a powerful platform for civic dialogue and global engagement.
Under his leadership, YDF hosted:
Ambassadors Week – bringing together diplomats, policy experts, and students to explore diplomacy and regional cooperation.
Criminal Justice Week – in partnership with the Criminal Justice Club, sparking youth conversations on justice reform and restorative practices.

YDF even earned an invitation to attend Senate plenary sessions, reflecting its growing national influence! The club was also named Most Outstanding Club of the Year – 2025 by the Dean of Students.

Benjamin credits the President’s Fellowship for sharpening his leadership and fueling his passion for ethical, inclusive change.

Our President’s Fellows are making a real impact across Kenya! During their recent visits to Ober Boys High School and Homa Bay High School ,they saw inspiring examples of youth-led transformation.

Ober Boys is excelling not only in innovative learning but also in green initiatives like tree planting and recycling, creating a sustainable environment. Meanwhile, Homa Bay High is fostering peace and inclusivity with programs that teach students conflict resolution and celebrate diversity.

These experiences highlight the power of ethical leadership and community service. Let’s keep building these models of excellence, sustainability, and unity across Kenya!

🚨 The President’s Fellowship Orientation 2025 kicked off with energy, purpose, and powerful voices that inspired a new generation of changemakers! 🚨

On April 17, 2025, young leaders from across the country gathered for a session of reflection, learning, and connection.

From redefining leadership as service—not status—to turning personal struggles into social impact, each speaker brought a unique lens to the theme of transformative leadership:

Amb. Phyllis Wanja reminded us that "Leadership is about the impact you create in your community."

Jackline Salion shared how the fellowship empowered her to turn advocacy for menstrual hygiene into real action.

Salwa Mohammed took us on a journey from COVID-19 hardship to building Helping Hands, a movement rooted in compassion.

Charlene Ruto challenged us with a bold truth: "Intention is not impact. Participation must transform lives."

As we usher in Cohort 5, we’re not just welcoming young people into a program—we’re walking with them as they grow into purpose-driven, community-centered leaders.

The President’s Fellowship was honored to host a courtesy visit from Mr. Marc Broere of Vice Versa and Ms. Rael Anoi of Desert Roses, alongside the Global Peace Foundation Kenya team led by Mr. Japheth Ouda and Mr. Vincent Ayako.

The meeting explored strategic collaborations around the Million Tree Growing initiative under the Chandaria Tree Nurseries, and highlighted the ongoing 5th Cohort recruitment drive for the President’s Fellowship/Chandaria Award.

We are especially proud to spotlight Rael Anoi, a dynamic young leader and 5th Cohort candidate, who is championing peace and education through sports in Turkana County.

On December 6, 2024, Daystar University, Valley Road Campus Nairobi, hosted the President’s Fellowship Conference 2024, a remarkable event recognizing the transformative contributions of over 100 young leaders from Kenya’s 47 counties.

With the theme "Empowering Young Leaders for Sustainable Development and Peace in Africa," the conference featured dynamic panel discussions on Ethical Leadership and Peace Building as well as Innovative Entrepreneurship, inspiring youth to lead change.

The highlight of the day was the prestigious Chandaria Awards, honoring 8 fellows for their exceptional work in community development, peacebuilding, and entrepreneurship. The fellows graduated and were officially appointed President’s Goodwill Ambassadors, marking a new chapter in their leadership journey.

This was more than an event; it was a celebration of youth-driven innovation and a call to action for sustainable change in Africa.
