African Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP) was launched in July 2010 at the Africa Trade and Economic Co-operation Forum (AGOA Forum). Organized and supported by several U.S. agencies, under the leadership of the U.S. Department of State, giving African businesswomen an opportunity to meet and network with business people, policy makers and industry associations, non-profit organizations advocating for women’s economic opportunities, and multilateral development organizations. In order to achieve our broader vision; AWEP Kenya Chapter seeks to give support to women who are victims of gender based violence. To realize this; AWEP Kenya Chapter has initiated an annual Charity Walk dubbed, ‘No Excuse For Abuse’ to reach out to 15,000 individuals from all walks of life , both men and women to show support to women who have been deprived off their spiritual, physical, emotional and mental wellness as a result of Gender Based Violence.
