🗣️ Building the Next Generation of Advocates and Community Leaders

On Tuesday and Wednesday, beneficiaries of the BADILISHA Project took part in an impactful Advocacy and Engagement Training facilitated by Pamoja Trust, a leading organization committed to promoting access to land, shelter, and basic services for vulnerable communities while advancing social and human rights.

The training provided participants with a deeper understanding of civic responsibility, citizen participation, leadership, advocacy, and the role they can play in influencing positive change within their communities. Through engaging discussions and practical learning experiences, the girls explored how they can effectively use their voices to address issues that affect their lives and advocate for their rights.

By investing in advocacy and civic education, BADILISHA continues to empower young women with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to become active participants in shaping a more inclusive and equitable society.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Pamoja Trust for sharing their expertise and inspiring our beneficiaries to become informed, engaged, and empowered citizens.

At Badilisha, we believe that real begins by meeting people at their point of need.

Our food basket initiative has had a profound on the lives of our beneficiaries. What may seem like a simple act of has restored , reduced daily struggles, and created room for individuals and families to focus on growth, learning, and opportunity.

We’ve witnessed resilience strengthened, restored, and communities slowly rebuilding from the inside out.

This is the of collective action. This is impact.

Last week, I had the privilege of participating as a delegate at the Africa Urban Forum held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya, representing At the Heart of a Woman (ATHOW).

The forum, through the African Union, the Kenyan Government and THE AFRICA WE WANT, partnered with UN-HABITAT, Shelter Afrique and, Tononoka Group, convened key stakeholders across the continent to explore pathways toward inclusive, sustainable urban development in line with Africa’s long-term agenda.

The discussions reinforced the critical role of community-based organizations in shaping resilient cities—particularly through empowering women and advancing grassroots-led solutions.
The gained, networks built, and perspectives shared will significantly inform and strengthen our ongoing at ATHOW.

I look forward to translating these insights into tangible impact within the communities we serve.
