At Badilisha, we believe that real begins by meeting people at their point of need.

Our food basket initiative has had a profound on the lives of our beneficiaries. What may seem like a simple act of has restored , reduced daily struggles, and created room for individuals and families to focus on growth, learning, and opportunity.

We’ve witnessed resilience strengthened, restored, and communities slowly rebuilding from the inside out.

Last week, I had the privilege of participating as a delegate at the Africa Urban Forum held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya, representing At the Heart of a Woman (ATHOW).

The forum, through the African Union, the Kenyan Government and THE AFRICA WE WANT, partnered with UN-HABITAT, Shelter Afrique and, Tononoka Group, convened key stakeholders across the continent to explore pathways toward inclusive, sustainable urban development in line with Africa’s long-term agenda.

The discussions reinforced the critical role of community-based organizations in shaping resilient cities—particularly through empowering women and advancing grassroots-led solutions.
The gained, networks built, and perspectives shared will significantly inform and strengthen our ongoing at ATHOW.

I look forward to translating these insights into tangible impact within the communities we serve.

As we launch ATHOW on TikTok, we are excited to begin sharing these powerful stories, , and journeys — stories of women who are choosing change and building new paths for themselves and their children.

This week, we are proudly welcoming a new cohort of girls into the Badilisha Programme — a space designed not just for participation, but for transformation.

Each enrollment represents more than registration.
- It represents potential.
- It represents courage.
- It represents a commitment to rewriting narratives.

In a community where opportunity is often limited by circumstance, Badilisha exists to expand possibility — through mentorship, psychosocial support, life skills development, digital literacy, and structured guidance rooted in dignity and accountability.

As we onboard this new group, we are not simply launching another cycle. We are strengthening a movement of confident, informed, and empowered young women prepared to lead in their homes, schools, and communities.

To our partners and supporters — thank you for making this work possible. Sustainable change begins with intentional investment.

The journey continues. And the future looks bold.

Sometimes, one invitation changes everything.

When Williams attended the 2nd Annual Nottingham Trent University Eastern Africa Centre Symposium, she didn’t just gain knowledge—she discovered Badilisha. A project transforming the lives of girls and women in one of Nairobi’s most underserved communities. This is where awareness meets action. ✨

By Andrea Williams Andrea was invited to the 2nd Annual Nottingham Trent University (NTU) Eastern Africa Centre Symposium in March of this year (2025). There she learnt about the Badilisha Project based in Kenya.
