Empowering Refugee Women, Transforming Communities

At Refugee Voice and Action, we believe that every refugee deserves the opportunity to build a sustainable livelihood and live with dignity.

Today, we are proud to see a strong and determined group of women working together to create a better future for their families. These inspiring women are committed to feeding their children, providing school materials to support their education, and ensuring access to health care for their loved ones.

Through unity, savings, entrepreneurship, and mutual support, they are proving that refugee women are not only survivors but also leaders, changemakers, and builders of resilient communities.

Together, we are creating pathways to self-reliance, hope, and lasting transformation.

When women are empowered, families thrive. When families thrive, communities grow stronger.

We are honored and grateful to share that Mulangaliro Rwagaza, the CEO and Founder of Refugee Voice and Action, was invited to participate in the World Refugee Day preparation meeting at UNHCR.

Through the support and partnership of IsraAID Kenya and the encouragement of Anne Muhinja, Refugee Voice and Action received the opportunity to be included in this important gathering.

This invitation is a great recognition of the work being done to uplift refugee communities through advocacy, MHPSS awareness, empowerment, and community engagement. It also shows the importance of collaboration in creating hope and positive change for refugees.

We sincerely appreciate IsraAID Kenya, Anne Muhinja, and all partners who continue to believe in the vision and mission of Refugee Voice and Action.

Together, we continue raising refugee voices and building stronger communities.

Today was a powerful and meaningful day as we came together for a successful MHPSS Awareness Event in Kakuma Refugee Camp alongside parents, community members, and partners who share the same vision of promoting mental health, healing, hope, and psychosocial wellbeing.

The event created a safe space for learning, sharing experiences, encouraging one another, and raising awareness about the importance of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) within our communities. Together, we emphasized that mental health matters for everyone — children, youth, women, men, and families.

We are grateful to all parents, facilitators, and partners who participated and contributed to making this awareness session impactful and successful. Your commitment shows that together we can build stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.

Special appreciation to all organizations and individuals supporting the promotion of emotional wellbeing, protection, and community healing among refugees and vulnerable families.

Together, we continue raising voices for hope, healing, dignity, and positive transformation.

Today we celebrate the strength and determination of TUSAIDIYANE Women Group — a women-led initiative empowering communities through Savings for Transformation, Business activities, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).

The group recently participated in a Business Development Services training conducted by the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with Danish Refugee Council Kenya. This training has equipped the women with valuable knowledge and skills to strengthen their businesses, improve livelihoods, and build a brighter future for their families and community.

Today, we celebrate the strength, dignity, and resilience of every worker.

As a humanitarian, we stand with those whose labor is often unseen — the mothers, the refugees, the volunteers, and the everyday heroes who keep communities alive even in the hardest conditions.

Work is more than a job. It is dignity. It is hope. It is survival.

On this Labour Day, let us not only celebrate workers, but also commit to creating opportunities, fairness, and support for those who need it most.

No one should be left behind.
