RVA warmly thanks RCK for visiting Refugee Voice and Action (RVA) and for taking the time to explore a meaningful partnership with us. We are excited about the opportunity to work together in GBV prevention and response, women and girls’ empowerment, MHPSS, youth engagement, and other community-based interventions.

We believe that strong partnerships can create safer, more empowered and resilient communities in Kakuma. We look forward to learning from each other, combining our strengths, and turning this shared commitment into meaningful action.

Refugee Voice and Action (RVA) distributed essential sanitary products to girls and women in our community, promoting menstrual hygiene, dignity, confidence, and continued participation in education and daily life.

We appreciate the support and collaboration of partners working to advance the rights, protection, health, and dignity of refugee women and girls.

Today, we had a meaningful Community Mental Health Dialogue with young people, providing a safe and inclusive space to discuss mental health challenges, resilience, emotional well-being, and the importance of seeking support. Through open conversations, participants shared experiences, learned positive coping strategies, and strengthened their commitment to supporting one another in building healthier and more resilient communities.

We sincerely appreciate Humanity & Inclusion (HI) Kakuma for their invaluable support in making this dialogue possible. Together, we continue to promote mental well-being, reduce stigma, and empower young people to become champions of positive mental health in our community.

Why Child Protection Awareness is Important in Kakuma and Kalobeyei?

Many children living in displacement face increased risks of abuse, neglect, exploitation, violence, child labour, child marriage, family separation, and emotional distress due to the challenges of forced displacement. Raising awareness helps parents, caregivers, teachers, community leaders, and children recognize the signs of abuse, understand children's rights, and know how and where to report protection concerns. It also strengthens community responsibility, promotes positive parenting, and creates safer spaces where children can learn, play, and thrive.
By working together to prevent harm and respond early to risks, we build stronger, more resilient communities that protect every child's dignity, wellbeing, and future.
