Ambassador for Youth and Adolescent Rep Health Programme - Ayarhep The main purpose of AYARHEP is to mitigate the impact of HIV and AIDS, promote health care.

AYARHEP is an adolescent and youth reproductive, health rights organization that was established in May, 2016 by a group of Youth leaders and youth activists with passion in addressing human, health and reproductive rights issues of young people. AYARHEP is a legal entity registered under the Kenya Non-Governmental Organizations Coordination Bureau as a not for profit organization. AYARHEP was bor

n out of the need to promote meaningful, efficient and effective young people's involvement in the designing, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of health programs where they are key stakeholders and partners as well as service beneficiaries. OBJECTIVES

The main purpose of AYARHEP is “to mitigate the impact of HIV and AIDS, promote health care, reproductive health and human rights.”

A generation of healthy adolescents and youth proactively involved in national health transformation. MISSION:

Young people should not only be invited into SRHR spaces. They should help shape them.

Sessions on youth participatory action research, comprehensive sexuality education, advocacy and storytelling showed why meaningful participation must go beyond representation. Young people need access to evidence, practical advocacy skills and real influence over the policies and services that affect their lives.

When young people help frame the questions, speak from their realities and define solutions, programmes become more relevant and systems become more accountable.

For AYARHEP, the direction is clear: continue centring young people as partners and leaders in advancing accessible, inclusive and rights-based SRHR.

The symposium has ended, but the work has not.

At the MenEngage Africa SRHR Learning & Exchange Symposium – in Mombasa, Ambassador for Youth and Adolescent Rep Health Programme - Ayarhep joined activists, young people, researchers, community leaders and partners from across Africa to confront a shared challenge: how do we protect bodily autonomy and advance sexual and reproductive justice when SRHR gains are facing growing resistance?

The conversations connected shrinking civic space, harmful gender and social norms, funding gaps, and the continued exclusion of young people and other marginalised communities from information, services and decisions.

We leave Mombasa with stronger connections and a shared responsibility to turn what was learned into action.

Bits and pieces of .

Colleagues Rio has been nothing but empowering.

The HIV response has been going through some of the most unexpected shifts since the funding cuts last year and despite all that communities have been restless and resilient to ensure we do not take any steps back.

AYARHEP has had the prevelage to join comrades , partners , funders and governments to learn and unlearn and also share our best practices at the conference.

So many moments have been standing out for us , meeting partners and colleagues we only knew via emails to actual hugging and having real-time updates, to attending side events and dancing the night away, to dissecting the sciences and policies.

AYARHEP is honored to have and will be speaking in different sessions, sharing the work we do , highlighting different themes across the panels.

We will keep you posted and in the meantime time run to Instagram where we are sharing daily updates of our day at the conference.

I am dedicating this award to the entire Ambassador for Youth and Adolescent Rep Health Programme - Ayarhep family, from our Board of Management to our AYPs and the larger community that has consistently inspired my journey.

Years ago, I met Michael Ager and Grace Muthoni at a training as just a participant. I was a clueless young girl trying to find a sense of direction. After just a two-minute conversation, my life changed. I landed my first voluntary gig at AYARHEP as a Social Media Manager.

Today, I am part of an incredible team that has become my family. This recognition may have my name on it, but it belongs to all of us.

A special shout-out to Grace, Michael, Richard Ong, Arnold O. Otieno, our Board of Management and the entire AYARHEP family. Thank you for believing in me, trusting me, supporting me and giving me room to grow. It is because of you that I have become the woman so many of you are celebrating today. I will never take that for granted.

Being recognized among the Business Daily Top 40 Under 40 Women 2026 is a reminder that one conversation, one opportunity and one person choosing to believe in you can completely change the course of your life. Grace, Michael, Richard and Arnold thank you for seeing something in me before I even saw it in myself. You took a chance on me and that chance changed my life.

This recognition is also my commitment to keep steering the wheel in the right direction and to keep shining the light along the path for other young girls. I hope to be the person who opens a door for someone else just as others did for me.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has celebrated this moment with me. For every text, every DM, every phone call, every prayer, every congratulatory message and every thoughtful gift, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am truly grateful.

This award is a reminder that when we choose to believe in young people, mentor them and create opportunities for them, we do not just change one life. We create a ripple effect that touches many more.
